I think it's his dirtiest song ever.

I found it so addictive that I did a funny cover version back in 1994! I tried to reverse engineer all it's parts and used a completely detuned guitar, a casio keyboard, and a real drummer.

i love this song too, all that jibberjabber in the background!.. but the lyric ' i'm helpless as a pet' is terrible! he could have come up with something else to rhyme with wet?

It never really stood out for me. I guess I always thought it made sense. Maybe more in the sense that a pet is so domesticated and so trusting.

that line has a funny way of stopping the juice the suggestion that he might feel like a jack russell/moggy/goldfish/hamster is so wrong

I just think of it as pets being domesticated and relying totally on their owners.

Also, pets are so trusting and their love is unconditional. That makes the line make sense to me.

but "pet" and the exact quote I just made was in the movie "Creepshow", with an American aristocratic woman on the family estate asking her nephew to get her some water...
