I mean i know it's probably a silly question to ask where. So to speak, but wtf i can't believe someone actually came up with this rumor? Oe the one that he licked honey and popcorn off some girls naval lol in public

It is likely that the telepathy story was started by journalists (possibly British) in France.

At one point in the 80's, Prince was in Paris and journalists were trying to track him down for photo's etc.

Rumours were flying about that he was looking to buy a property in Paris, then that he was going to meet with Sheena Easton in Paris, and then that he was going to buy Sheena Easton a house in Paris.

One journalsit subsequently reported that he and his work colleagues spent their days getting no story whatsoever. Their bosses were desperate for gossip, and they had nothing to report. No photographs (apart from pictures of houses they speculated that prince might buy!), no evidence that Prince was actually meeting Sheena Easton, no confirmation that they were actually talking to each other.

So, desperate for a story to justify the trip abroad, they basically dreamt up the story with the following logic: if Prince and Sheena are apparently supposed to be communicating with each other in Paris, but there is no no evidence that they have met up - or even spoken to each other, they must therefore be communicating telepathically!!! And that was the story that they filed!

I believe the story came from the National Enquirer. Or maybe I'm confusing it with the story about Prince telepathically communicating with Bubbles, causing Michael Jackson to go into a rage.
