There's 2 things I like about 1999 TNM:

1) Getting to hear just the keyboard part from "Little Red Corvette" with nothing over it (well, Xcept for Rosario's yapping).

2) The horrific response to it probably discouraged Prince from releasing a new master to any of his other old songs.

See? There's always a bright side!
Even to something as terrible as 1999 TNM.

hehe agreed smile But hell, he tried... or um... not!

I just dont get y he didnt put all that energy in2 a new song... or 7 jams 4 that matter... damnit!

U cannot re-do the Revolution!

I suppose then he would have released this with promotion and would have played it everywhere, especially the MTV awards.

I didn't have to buy the Purple medley, the recordstore gave it away free with the Gold experience cd when that came out. But 1999 TNM I have never bought and won't unless it costs les than three or four dollars.

I never even bought the "1999" new master.I was so disappointed that Prince decided to go back and re-make one of his old classics. It seemed like something that a washed-up,has-been artist would do.You know, just to "cash in" on the whole millenium bullshit.

And the remixes themselves were terrible! The original version of "1999" is a monumental classic that should NEVER be butchered that way.To do so really cheapens the song, imo.

But,amazingly,I liked the "Purple Medley" smile
