It has taken me years to actually like this song when I first heard it I was like Prince can do so much better But actually the track is banging! The music is great and just the fact that Prince wrote some lyrics that said he wants to belong to somebody just for tonight if nothing else is just so sweet I mean a song like this coming from Prince who at least at one time could have anybody and quite frankly he could still get it Nice song! and the video is cool to I have really grown to like this song Ur opinions of Somebody's Somebody?

I always liked the song. It shows his vulnerability and shyness. He looks so good in the video 2.

Love this song! Really, I love all of the Emancipation ballads. I think this is some of the most revealing music he's ever written. I heard him say once that his music is somewhat of a soundtrack to his life. I think the Emancipation ballads give us a glimpse of the vulnerability he felt (or anyone feels) being truly in love.

My favourite song on emancipation and definately among my top 50 fav prince songs. Beautifully written, nice vocals and emotion. It should have been a much bigger hit.

i can relate alot to this song.one of his songs i can relate to the most..been single way too long!

A lot of Emancipation left me cold, but Somebody's Somebody was an immediate standout. What's different about the song, for me, is that it's so rare to see Prince being unself-consciously vulnerable. Even though some of the lyrics are cloying, Prince transcends that by being emotionally honest and humble. It's something he so rarely does, and for me, it elevates what could have been a mediocre song into a truly great one. It's one of my favorites off that album and one of my most loved songs of his.

when I open myself to listen to Emancipation, I do like this song. Cute as hell.

Love this song. It's so thought provoking! "Gigolos get lonely 2". U can be drop dead gorgeous with everything people dream of & still feel alone. A beautiful song! Especially love the line "I'm longing 2 hear another voice inside these lonely walls". Beautiful lyrics sung more beautifully by Prince. I'm putting it on now!!!!

I'm pleased to see that you have a found a new love for this beautiful and soulful song. I have always enjoyed this track from the superb “Emancipation” album. Along with the other ballads from the 3 disc set, Somebody’s Somebody is full of emotion, honesty and musical magic. Something that only Prince can create. I LOVE the song with Right Back Here In My Arms. It’s a fantastic duo!

To me Emancipation shows us that Prince was really in love this time.

So many of the songs of that cd are about love and relation - I really loved it when it came out. A big change. Prince showed us that he is human, after all

I love it as well from the start and actually have no problems with the entire CD.

I would love to see him sing this live.

Oh and lets not forget how FINE he looked in that camel colored coat.

Wow, glad somebody else gives this song the credit it deserves!! I've loved this song from the first time I heard it. It's in the top 10 songs played on my playlist and probably my fave off of Emancipation...at least in the top 3. Its one of his best ballads and I am officially addicted to that song right about now! I must say also, he looks TOO FINE in that video! Yummy. And the live version was good, I'd like to see it played more often, the guitar part is nice.

I know, these lyrics are so beautiful! I think its great, he revealed himself on here...very powerful. I love when he says, "in its best disguise, a pretty house don't make a home." Says alot about how he was feeling at the time when he wrote it. And that part about bring him dinner some time and that there is a hunger deep inside me...
