I have to agree......forget all the technical skill level rubbish.....he gives that guitar a voice, melody and rhythm like no one ive heard........Joy In Repitition.....Anna Stesia LoveSexy Tour.......The Word 3121.....Ssshh Coachella.....The question of u.......the list goes on......
Technically they others may be better but they dont take their solos to places prince can take them......or give a solo such emotion like Prince can

Nope. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Those songs are not rhythm guitar songs they are lead guitar songs. There is a difference. Good rhythm guitar songs Prince plays on are "DMSR", 1999", "kISS" "Superfunkycalifragsexy", "Housequake", & more recently "Sticky Like Glue" from the mega hit album "20TEN".... N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

Best ever? No.
My favorite? Absolutely. At times I think I like his rhythm guitar work more than his leads. He is rock solid, creative and funky.
As far as technically, I've heard work from Scott Henderson and John Scofield that I think are on a totally different level. They're some of my favorite players too, but what about Roger Troutman? Didn't he play those funky licks on Zapp's songs, or am I mistaken?

Oh and while I'm at it, Mico Weaver was (and I sure still is) phenomenal.
