Most believers are not very good at accepting all living beings are they?

They really are convinced to have better souls because they believe some manuscript to be the only truth there is. And condemn the people who choose to think differently.

A lot of bad stuf has come from that.

Not just really bad knotted ties...

I really have no clue about existence or religion. I only know i'ts extremely fascinating.

This statement covers most moral righteousness religious people claiming to have a exclusive dealing right on morality.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Yeah, that was freaking hilarious! Didn't that lead to the warning labelling of albums after that? lol

it lead to the 'explicit lyrics' label but some albums had a warning label before that. (dirty mind had one).

Some of the funny things in the hearing (from memory) was frank Zappa taking them all to task.

and a debate on the printing of lyrics. And the reading of some of the choice lyrics from Prince and others.

Great video! But were they makin' that up, about Sheila? Doesn't seem like her type o' thing. Hilarious nonetheless.

I gotta confess, though - the Scorpions' 'Virgin Killer' is pretty indefensible.

Are you kidding about Sheila E? I remember we all throught she was getting naked back then in High School, the rumors were getting out of hand... the tied up blow job bit was part of her act, I think the guy's shirt would also be taken off. She was the female clone of Prince back then in terms of mannerism and attitude.

I'm pretty sure the blowjob was always simulated by Sheila and the guy was part of the act, not just randomly chosen.

More inappropriate was that it was done during Next Time Wipe the Lipstick Off Your Collar. I mean, that just doesn't match up with the lyrics of the song at all.

Then again, Sheila's voice was never really strong enough to carry NTWTLOYC. If she was making "gurgle, gurgle" noises during it, it would probably improve the performance.

Ah, okay. In Western Canada, our exposure to the Purple Rain tour (and all things related) pretty much began and ended with the 'I Would Die 4 U'/'Baby I'm a Star' video. Apart from the Glamorous Life and Romance 1600 videos (and the Sign o' the Times film), we never heard much about Sheila at all.

Part 1 mentions Rick James.

I was hoping to see a young Sarah Palin in there, but no such luck. And Mick Jagger urinating on stage? I think they had the wrong Rolling Stone.

How hilarious that they cite "Delirious" as a "dirty" Prince song when it's pretty tame. There's FAR nastier Prince songs out there, as we know. If they had talked about the incest themes in "Sister", the having oral sex with a woman on her way to get married in "Head", or the sex in the back of a taxi sounds in "Lady Cab Driver", for example, they could have made a stronger argument.

That video reminds me of this site I found a while back that talks about the evils of the 1999 cover.

http://fundamentalbaptist...Prince.htm

It's funny that they mention the "666" when the album cover is upside down and the "arrow" pointing to hell; but they're totally oblivious that the "arrow" is a sylized dick.

i know lol this struck me as really odd as well & then whole dialogue was so weird it was hysterical. it's got a spoof vibe, i was waiting 4 them to highfive, jump off their arses & groove to doves.

i mean delirious, with all his other material?.. then they were so unconvincing, they didn't look in the least bit repulsed by the concert, all their smiling tells a different story. bloody weirdos!

Jake Holmes will prob. get his credit, he never pushed Jimmy Page for it, because he made a nice living as a jingle writer. He used to work with Joan Rivers in the coffeehouses as part of an improv group, and spent a couple of years being a folk musician.

The song is the "wicked ways of women". Prince has a few of those.

cool, i wondered if anybody remembered these stage antics or had the chance to witness stuff like this.

i think cat did something similar like that, simulating bj with prince & mic?.. i seem to remember that from somewhere but it's the first time i heard about prince 'shagging' the anyone in the audience!..

i thought he only did his mic stand & guitars & it kinda made me think that piano girl from arnhem missed out a bit really wink

also does anyone remember the protests by these people? my arse! they're the ones that need locking up

I am thinking that Jake was also one of the photographers for the LZ1 cover.

But LZ stole a bunch of their songs... some got timely credit others still have not. (but same goes with prince he gave no for or under-credited several songs on For You ( as well as Prince, Dirty Mind, and controversy)

Christian Right fanatics, you have all got to check out my latest You Tube discovery "Godless Panther" his series about the Satanic Panic is incredible (Warning he hates (Justifiably) the Christian Right". He talks aty length about back masking in music and Satanic Ritual Abuse panics of 80s (Which all turned out to be bullshit) dreamed up by the Christian whom before they bashed gays and Abortionists were racists.

well they're obviously being a bit extreme, but i think the essence of their argument is their perception of prince's lack of morals, and responsibility as a role model, in terms of what they think those things should be.

i remember someone said recently (i cant remember where i saw this, i think it might've been when prince said the net was dead) - some guy on a blog said that all prince did was peddle sex.

he might be right, especially early in prince's career, it was obvious he was obsessed with it. so i guess i'm wondering how prince impacted on teens, both the positive and the negative.

its one thing to help teens feel better about their sexuality, but another to promote some of the concepts prince did. maybe he wasnt thinking about that back then.

but i'm glad he's invited children to his welcome to america shows. they will be lucky enough to see him simulate oral sex with his hands and rip his shirt off on stage.

well, thats if he plans on doing the same type of shows he's been doing in europe lol

this too shall pass
