Help Requested: A Prince CD for my little sister

I have been meaning to make a CD for my little sister now for some time. At Christmas time 2001 I was playing TRC over and over while I was staying at my parents house. On the last day I caught my sis humming away with a much to frequent “willing to do the work” slotted in every so often, it really made me chuckle. She is 11 years old and Down syndrome, music really seems to interest her but she is becoming indoctrinated with chart music rubbish.

I would appreciate recommendations of prince tracks(or even non Prince stuff for a second CD) that would be guaranteed to appeal to the younger generation. Especially tracks that would work well together on a mix CD and get her dancing around the lounge to some decent music instead of Gareth Gates!!

Loose, Gold, and Dolphin were 3 my stepdaughter loved.also the 'beautiful' remix of TMGITW.

obviously we're going back a bit, but she might like those.shrug

It's hard to get into the mindset of an 11yr old though.

For some reason i find all children love 'Play in the sunshine'.
As a child it was my favourite Prince track. Its kinda worn off on me now.

Recommendations:
Play in the sunshine
Starfish and coffee
Good Love
Kiss
Girls and boys
We can funk
Little red Corvette

It doesn't really matter about the content, Kids are more concerned with the melody.
"London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"

"YEAH!!!"

"Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

my little girl likes Pussy Control, she doesn't understand english yet, so the lyrics aren't a problem yet...

Also Emale and Emancipation (the screaming..)

HI...I'm thinking about what songs I would put on a CD for my 11-year-old niece and my suggestions are:

Make Yo Mama Happy
Beautiful Night
Paisley Park
Play in the Sunshine
Starfish and coffee
Good Love
We Gets Up
I Wish You Heaven
Jam of the Year
White Mansion

Good Luck smile Let us know how she likes it!

Many thanks guys, it is amazing how hard it is to come up with a few tracks with such an extensive choice. Some excellent suggestions BTW. Big White Mansion would have never entered my mind but I can see it working really well. Pussy control! Mmmm, let me think about that one! Keep 'em coming, your assistance is very much appreciated.

Pagey

Raspberry Beret (lyrics are a BIT risque for a 10 year old but she doesn't even know what the hell he is singing about...she just likes the tune)
Lets Go Crazy
1999
Starfish & Coffee
Baby I'm A Star
Mountains
Walk Don't Walk
Batdance
Can't Stop This Feeling I Got
Arms of Orion
It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night

...I made this CD for my 10 year old neice who discovered Prince on the radio after hearing 1999. I made this CD for her b-day a year ago...she LOVES it.
