'27' V.2 (4DaFunk) A landmark in boot history

This is out:

[img:$uid]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v633/vc61/artwork/Promo.jpg[/img:$uid]

4DaFunk had already released the best version of the 1985 Birthday concert and only them could top that.

With things like this being freed no wonder I'm not bothered listening to the recent gigs.

Give me classic Prince any day of the week, especially if it's in an unmatched quality.

Discuss!

This has to qualify as one of the boots of the year.

Great content, great artwork.

What more do you need?

A brilliant release.

It must have been a great party, i love the fact that Mutiny is sung by none other than Paul Peterson himself.

^It sure must have been!

If you read the newspaper clip that's inside the artwork you'll realize it must have been THE place to be that night.

Would've given whatever to attend such a particular party!

Indeed, The Vault book states that an estimated $20,000 was spent on the party, and props included two big brass beds. lol

It is amazing that this event was recorded at all, because it also states that security was unusually tight for a private function, and press were not allowed to enter.

I thought eBay were against this sort of thing? I guess it's hard to police unless they have a full-time Princeologist on staff!

^These things were always reported but anyway 'another' pops up soon after.

Blame it on the people who buy. That's been discussed to death and apparently there's nothing that can be done.

The best recipe agains this: spread the releases everywhere through torrents, direct downloads, etc...

And then will come certain labels and press it to sell without no credit for the work of the fans.

Ebay is teeming with bootlegs.......always. Ebay (USA) is even worse, everytime i do a search of ebay.com i find loads of bootlegs. And i'm not just talking about a couple dotted here and there, there are piles of them.

Amazon is at it too, maybe not concert boots, but there are sellers on Amazon still selling the Madhouse albums, Jill Jones etc for stupidly low prices, they have to be fakes.

And there is another American based online auction website thing, similar to ebay, i wont mention the name, but it's not hard to find. Type in Prince in their search function and you would not believe what pops up. I counted over 200 Prince boots being sold on cd-r's for insane prices.

Back to ebay for a second. There is a certain French "dealer" who sells original silvers, he/she is currently selling the "remastered" City Lights series for over £50, and they sell them (and other titles) every week. neutral Not good.

I have nothing against the sale of pressed bootlegs, I've bought plenty in my time, in those days there were no torrents and download sites - but selling something put out for free, and made with a lot of love and care and time no doubt - well burning that to a CD-R and selling something people can get themselves for free is pretty scuzzy.

I bought plenty silvers then too, we had to. But yes, the cd-r thing annoys me, and these people are not even providing cheaply printed artwork, their ads specifically state so.

They took that part out of the artwork. neutral I guess the hi-res PDF artwork included in this release made it way too easy to do that. That part will have to be embedded in the Photoshop files next time. Even so, I have seen plenty of ioffer and eBay sellers with very readable images of the "FREE MUSIC" on their sales pix. It seems the sellers and the buyers don't care. If the buyer is happy to pay $20 US for a CD-R... what are you gonna do?

These PDFs were meant to be put on a USB thumb drive and brought to the local copy shop for laser printouts, so the packaging would look as good as possible sitting in with a fan's CD collection. wall

I used to pay a pretty penny for silver pressed bootleg CDs from Sabotage, Thunderball, Kiss The Stone, etc and was pretty damn excited to have them, but CD-Rs start deteriorating at a predetermined half-life, so I don't get why people can't fathom the process of Google>Download>Burn>Print.

I reported it and got this response:

We'll review what you've reported for violations of our replicas,
counterfeit items, and unauthorized copies policy. Thanks for bringing
this to our attention.

We'll review the listing or post carefully. If we determine that it
violates eBay policy, we may:
-- send the seller a warning
-- remove the listing
-- limit the seller's buying and selling privileges

We usually won't suspend a seller's account unless the seller has
violated our policies multiple times.* To protect the privacy of our
members, we don't share what actions we choose to take.

We may also send your report to the rights owner for review. If the
rights owner believes that the item is infringing, they may choose to
send eBay a formal request to remove the listing.

*Duh. Look at this sellers other items. lol
