I know it's not officially a "Prince" song, but he plays it, honors it and delivers it.

I think some Sly covers are a theme for Prince, coming from the heart of funk If it weren't for Prince letting so many of us be 'ourselves,' enjoying the music however, whenever we want, being whoever we want to be, this world wouldn't be nearly as great. IMO

So I'd simply like to Thank You, Prince for letting us be ourselves, again and again and again

Interesting perspective...much as I love Prince and his music, it seems to me that recent behaviour (ie. last decade or so) have suggested he is less inclined to let his fans do this than most artists.

Just wondering what it is you feel Prince does to let us be 'ourselves' in respect to listening to his music and being who we want to be, more so than the average artist?
