If U could... What up Purple Headz, Got a question 4 U? Out of all the unreleased recordings you have heard, if you could narrow it down to just two GREAT songs what would it be? My two would be "Moonbeam levels" and "Addonis & Basheba". The reason 4 Moonbeams, the song takes you on a purple journey that only Prince can take you on lyrically speaking. It all starts with a boy lying in the grass thinking about writing a novel and away we go. Musically, it screams Queen influence I could see Freddy Mercury singing this song. Now, on to "Addonis and Lady B.", I am still trying to figure out why Susan Rogers did not care for this song, based on the snippet the song is infectious. When I listen to this song it is a tragedy that I didn't grow up hearing this song on the radio in 86/87" it's one of the best slow Jams Prince has every made imo. The song, I will admit is a slow burn, but when it hits you (like with a lot of Prince's music) you are hooked! The marriage of the Parade era and SOTT era makes "Addonis and Basheba" absolutely intoxicating from a musical stand point...so that's my two favorites, what are yours? Peace, Aaron6ix | |
