I can think of no CD I would want to listen to less than my copy of "1999 TNM". Does anyone here like it, and if so are you willing to risk ridicule and admit it in front of everyone here

It just makes me retch... particularly the acapella version! And the Rosario mix. It makes me want to hurt, maim and destroy.

I'm a peaceful guy, I don't want to kill anymore. Please make 1999 TNM disappear and free me of the curse.

Tangible proof that Prince's should not ever go back and remaster any of his work.

It is certainly up there isn't it, also the GCS2000 album.

1996-2000 (especially '98/99) just makes me cringe.

I agree Ian. I don't think I've listened to it since I bought it.

1999 TNM is absolutely awful. One of Prince's worst recordings.

I do like the Rosie mix and Keepsteppin' though.

Hands down...YES! Biggest piece of shit, can't believe it was made.

I also have not bought it. Post New Power Soul kind of feel. The CD artwork was herrendous too. THe packaging was slightly bigger than the standard size CD, so it didn't fit in the bins!!!


But I must say, that the Linn drum track was remastered and did sound awesome!

I would have muted the Rosie vocal..."This is the party of all parties"..egh.

Prince new vocals also were to over done. He was moaning the song.

The instrumental would be the better one.

But still, Paisley Park could have handled the whole thing waaay better. Oh well.

I wonder if Prince sabatoged the whole 1999 fever.

Oh and the rapping...sheesh what was that?

YES ! The 1999 TNM is indeed the least played CD in my
collection...number two would have to be this cassette
of "New Power Generation" , the one with incredible
songs such as "Loveleft, Loveright", classic tunes like
"The Lubricated Lady" , "Get Off"( I mean the Get Off with
just one T) and other stuff. Horrible !
Anyone else also noticed how they wrote "jugdement day" on the back of that 1999TNM thing ?? Parke must have been asleep.

Prince's most embarassing musical moment is the Rave album. Most of the duets were pointless. The song with Gwen Stefani made me cringe. It was just so generic and plastic.

There's 2 things I like about 1999 TNM:

1) Getting to hear just the keyboard part from "Little Red Corvette" with nothing over it (well, Xcept for Rosario's yapping).

2) The horrific response to it probably discouraged Prince from releasing a new master to any of his other old songs.

See? There's always a bright side!
Even to something as terrible as 1999 TNM.

I don't think I've ever made it through a whole song on that one...

Hmmm. I bit overproduced, but I do like it. Especially the Rosario remix.


Purple Medly is pretty bad, tho.
