With Prince being the guitar gunslinger that he is, I would love him to cover Michael Narada Walden's "The Dance Of Life." Just wanted to know if there are any other fans that share the same opinion.

That's late 1970s music that sounds like late 1970s music ..but you're right. ..Prince could play it so much better. He has so much more ...depth of soul.

I think no doubt that he could but who would you suggest for drums? Michael Narada Walden is a "Beast" on that particular track.

I got the album actually lol Feels like somethin Carlos either didn't get to or maybe passed it on to Narada Now, I've met and seen John Blackwell play live and if Prince couldn't get Mike Bland 4 some reason, John would tear the house down with that song if you let him. I'd put Stokley (Mint Condition) or Jellybean (The Time) in the mix too.

Man, outstanding ain't even the word lol Stokley plays all the drums/percussion on Mint albums, and at all their shows he does a drum off with their road drummer a la Phil Collins and Chester Thompson in Genesis. Before I heard that album I didn't know Narada Michael Walden was a drummer 'cause I knew him as a producer behind Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. I heard that song and again I thought it was a Santana outtake till I read the credits lol

A lot of people thought Carlos' music began and ended with Oye Como Va, Black Magic Woman, Evil Ways and thats was it but he was influenced by cats like Miles Davis, Buddy Guy, Wes Montgomery, John Coletrane, and Charles Mingus. For a closer listen check out his album with John McLaughlin "Love Surrender and Devotion" and "Amigos", "Blues For Salvador,"Caravanserai"and "Moonflower"
