I was reminded recently that one of my favorite rockers Marilyn Manson noted Prince as an inspiration along with Freddy Mercury and Alice Cooper. One of the things that is awesome about P is that his influence range is sooo diverse in music, hip-hop artists, metal heads, soul singers, and pop stars have noted his influence. So list all people or interesting stories of folks influenced by the Purple One.

Janet Jackson - was crazy about Prince's grooves

TLC- Definately

Kanye West- Didn't he say he felt insecure around people like Prince

Outkast - just look at Andre 3000

2PAC - said he was a Prince fan, and sampled The Time and Darling Nikki

Ice Cube- mentions him in What Can I Do?

Adam Lambert- covered How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore

Dr. Dre- if I'm not mistaken said he was a P fan back in the Rave days

Ke$ha - broke into his house in hopes of a record deal

i've seen backstage footage of jonathan from korn saying he likes liberace and his outfits. curious on his thoughts of prince. i've idolized jon since 96 when i was in high school..he's had some kool outfits and sparkly looks onstage before. and his favorite color is purple! his adidas sequined tracksuits back in the day were the shit!he's my long lost brother. he act the same,sound the same even laugh the same...triple eyebrow piercings and my labret piercings resemble a soulpatch...

i always sound stuffed up and have a lsp too. what a honor it was it finally meet him 3 yrs ago.

same here!yeah grunge,classic rock,metal...i love it. most of the other music section is all r&b. i mean i got a beyonce cd and one by alicia keys but my biggest love is mid 80's new wave pop rock like INXS and U2.

Korn had discussed covering "Erotic City" for an all covers CD, you can google "Korn" and "Erotic City" and find the articles.. he's 39, so he was def. around for Prince at his commercial zenith.
