"Come" featured on "The Beautiful Experience" Hi,
Does anyone know if the version of "Come" used on the TV film "The Beautiful Experience" was every released, or perhaps what the mix is called? I always thought this stripped down electro version was superior to that released on the album "Come".
Thanks! G | |

It was never officially released. Seek out a set called The Dawn. You'll find a long version there. There is no actual titular difference or anything. It was just one of the incarnations of "Come" before release. The release version on the album was originally a maxi-single version and the one you heard was the original.

Best version IMO
IIRC, the version on the Dawn is mixed with another version (very well done of course). The B.E. version itself is on a few boots like 'Deposition' (old Moonraker 3CD title that preceeded The Work) along with Work It, etc.

That version can also be found on 4DaFunk's "The Ultimate Beautiful Experience" boot too, which is basically the full audio of the broadcast Beautiful Experience show, and a seperate show recorded live at Paisley, it's the dogs knackers.
And i agree with Nouveau in that it is the best version.

It's just one of many unreleased mixes of the track.
That particular version is known as the 'Techno Mix' and it's never been released, other than it's appearance in The Beautiful Experience TV special. The full length Techno Mix has never surfaced on any bootlegs, as all circulating versions are simply ripped from the edit used in the TV special.

My money is on the album version too.
Nothing can beat that.
The day I bought the album in 94 I spent 4 hours with this track on repeat. I just couldn't stop listening to it.

Was the full length version really taken from a Paisley Park In-House 12" as 'The Vault' book states, some say it's fan-made, but it sounds quite authentic to me. 3121... Don't U Wanna Come?

The so called 'Full Length Version' that appears on various boots is definitely fan-made. It's even sourced from the Beautiful Experience TV broadcast, just with a bit of editing to make it longer. The real full length mix is not circulating (and there was no In-house 12" for it anyway). [Edited 11/2/10 9:16am]
