Prince should really stop playing hits from other artists/bands, there's just too many in the current setlist, I find this totally ridiculous because Prince has so many great and timeless songs himself.

Each time when I hear Prince say "I've got so many hits, I can stay here all night, I have so many hits!" I wanna scream "Then why don't you actually play them in stead of all that other crap, besides I don't give a damn if it were hits or not, just play your own damn music!

u hit something right on the head which i think gets lost amongst fans alot of the times. creative musicians are always working on new things but yet get trapped in the box of having 2 play the same old songs everytime because the fans want 2 hear them. well if u were eating the same food everyday, how tired would u become of eating the same thing?

thus i applaud when any artist chooses 2 do their other material than the same old drivel all the time. just as much as u can listen 2 any prince song all the time, their are times u will get bored with it. even my favorite song of prince i can't stand 2 hear it every day

The only song that saved that album was 'Pop Life'...and even it failed because ATWIAD is just awful. One day, when I have some money and time to waste, I'm going to buy the sheet music to 'Raspberry Beret' and some lighter fluid. I'm going to take it out into my backyard, douse it heavily with the lighter fluid, strike a match, set it on fire, and watch it burn slowly until nothing remains and then bury the ashes as deep as possible...yes, it's like that. I'd tell Prince to his face how much I hate the song. In fact, I hope he's reading this right now because I know he lurks on here.

Honestly, I don't understand this thread. I can understand people aren't fans of the covers he does, but the hits have made Prince big and are the reason he can still sell out stadiums and with that, the reason he still gives that many concerts. I really cannot understand why people are picking on every hit he has made, and I've seen almost all of them in this thread

You don't have to love every single hit and you can get bored of them. Madonna's first hit is "Holiday" and she performed it on almost all of her tours. I want her to retire it and never perform it again because it bores me. I can understand why some feel the same way about LGC or PR.
