what era should i do?

and tips to recreate an outfit without it being to costly

i wanna do the PR era because non fans will recognize that era but thats probably the hardest one

Last year my husband was Prince & I was Apollonia. He got a grey coat from the salvation army & dyed it purple. He got a womens blouse & black maternity pants from the salvation army too, and sewed on some big buttons to the pants. It was very cheap. People knew who he was, but no one knew who I was

i risk people not knowing who i am

so ill just wear a sign that says "my name is prince" on the front ...."i am funky" will be on the back

I would say go as 80s Prince too, most recognizable!! We did this a few years ago for my birthday, which is close to Halloween, my theme was Prince, so people had to come as him in a different era. To make sure we had a variety, I had everyone pull eras out of a bag. It was fun, everyone pretty much found their outfits at thrift stores, etc. I'd like to do that again. Last year I did MJ, I may do Prince theme again this year? Anyway, I'd do a Purple Rain theme for sure. The only other period people MAY recognize is Parade(The outfit from Kiss video is very recognizable)? If I saw someone dressed circa the Lovesexy or Rave days especially, I'd recognize them right away, but maybe most other 20 something folks won't?

In our malls they open halloween shops around this time, I seriously have seen asses in there!!

i found a blazer at burlington coat factory on clearance for 10 bux. looks like the purple rain one but only diff is isn't purple leopard print!!

the last saturday of every month there is a local club that gives $500 to best 80'd outfit!

i added buttons to the side of these.

hot topic had these. remind me of the darling nikki gloves

now i just gotta put all these elements together!

i got prince on my collarbone but that portrait on my chest is michael from inxs. here i posted my 3 prince tats in the artist forum but i'll post em again...

he's gonna need touchup but i used a mirror and the crow on my other collarbone i split into like 5 or 6 sessions.
