If my mom or one of my sisters were to EVER come in my house or get in my car and start talking shit about Prince (they won't, they know better than that!), they'd be shown the door quicker than they could say "WTF?"! That crap just don't fly with me!! Cause I wouldn't do that to their musical love. They already know that 99% of the time Prince will be played and talked about, so they know what's up already...you don't want to hear it, don't come by. They've learned to just indulge in the music and conversation...I'm converting them slowly but surely..

In the early 80's I copped alot of flack for liking 'Punce' as they'd call him. I've only met one fan in my life except at concerts. I live in Australia and to be honest, he hasn't been heard of here since the 90's.

I think people now at least respect him as musician. He was so cool in the 80's, I don't understand what people didn't get. Michael Jackson was the 'normal' one and Prince the 'weird' one. Yeeeah, see how that turned out

well.....it used to annoy me but not any more...i dont have a problem with someone not liking his music IF they have heard some of it...thats fine.....what i do have a problem with if someone says he is crap or whatever......people can say what they like but if they cant see the talent that prince has.....they either are musically ignorant or just a dick !......and i meet people like this every day...put prince on stage with almost anyone and he will blow them away....

The only thing non-fans say that annoys me is: "Prince is gay!" or "Is Prince gay?" 1) Is him being gay going to take away from his musical output? and 2) The man was married to two beautiful women and dated both Apollonia and Vanity and last I checked they were far from ugly. Those two statements just lead me to believe that the non fans who ask them or either stupid, haters, bigots, jealous, or uneducated in the realm of Prince so I just look at them and laugh because they just don't know about this man and that sucks for them. Now, if they hate certain songs, that's cool with me because odds are I probably don't like them either. His popular, more widely accepted songs usually are not my favorites.

Why do they make an argument that he's gay just because he's a pretty man? Obviously, the fact that he dated beautiful women is just to make their arguments look a little petty because the way he looks is usually why non-fans think he's gay. If they want to play the superficial card, than I can play it right back.

When people that like other artist start going @ prince to get a rise out of me i say the following. "By all objective measures". When they ask what that means i'll tell em whatever you think a great artist should have, he has more of it across the board than any artist that ever lived. If you think he's a fag or not cool or you have a problem with short people then your opinion is invalid. Prince's talent is transcendent; you can ask non fans who are in music and know music about him and they have no choice but to give it up. In otherwords, mine (prince) can do anything yours can do and better and yours cant do what mine can do. Take Keith Richards and the Stones. Prince can sit in for any one of those guys and take their jobs including Mick but not one of them can front a Prince band.

Not annoyed. The only issue I have with non-fans talking is when they say "I like Princes' older stuff, not his new stuff" when they have not even heard his new stuff.

So I say, "name a newer song that you dislike."
