You know I loves ya, but brother was on the pulpit HARD at some of the Rio shows. Full on preaching mode. Not sure about the 21 Nights shows. But I haven't noticed it at all in any recent video or audio.

Right. Yet when I mention Prince's flakiness, I get accused of "backtracking" when that wasn't what I was doing.
At this point - we know the album exists. We've had:
- My source that I mentioned - Rich Friends played & 20TEN Deluxe mentioned on the French radio station - the Peach & Black Podcast's conversation with Prince where he gave away information on the contents of the album such as the extended versions of Lavaux and Laydown.
There's also the fact that, since 1978, every single Prince album has been released in the US. I know there's been some European only side projects and protege stuff...but every once of Prince's real albums has had a US release and I don't see that changing.

all we are saying is it looks 'very likely' that it will come out...almost certainly at the us concerts..i used to agree with some of bart's statements on here but he has had a personal go at me and i now see he is here to annoy posters with his negativity....i dont think he has ever said one positive thing on here...we all know prince can be a dick but not everything he does is hopeless or crap...i admire prince first and foremost as a brilliant musician, performer, recording artist and songwriter ( most of the time )...i dont really care what he is like as a person and ...no doubt if i knew him personally...he could never live up to the guy who has provided the soundtrack to my life since i was 15 ...its always about the music and its still of a quality that keeps me hooked on him.. . lotusflower website and cancelled concerts and this and that annoy the f**k out of me but my love for his music always overcomes whatever he has done to piss me off... Prince has made mistakes. Some of his decisions, business and artistic, have been suspect. Some of the music he's released should probably have been kept in the "the vault". But in general, as an artist and a person, the guy has given far, FAR more than he's taken in the last thirty plus years. A happy medium - not swinging too far to one side or the other with comments, opinions, frustration, positivity, etc., I've always thought, is the best way to go about being a Prince fan. But some people will just never be satisfied one way or the other.

Maybe I'm missing something here - what did Prince say that indicates he may give 2010Deluxe away at the US concerts? It looks like nothing more than wishful thinking from everything I've read here but maybe I've missed it.

he didnt say that...but he said it was ready to go...i would be very surprised if it doesnt come out at the concerts in america....

You proclaimed he was going to give the album away at the W2A gigs. Yet there is ZERO evidence for this. ZERO.
And when peopel pointed out that you were mistaking your wishes for facts, you suddenly started emphasising that you said "likely" etcetera.
Like I said: Prince's vault is filled with things that exist. TBA was pulled from release while they were loading the trucks. WHILE THEY WERE LOADING THE TRUCKS.
Still doesn't mean it is going to be given away at the gigs. [Edited 11/8/10 2:27am] © Bart Van Hemelen

Hilarious. So I pointed out somewhere that you said something stupid or incorrect, and that is a "personal attack" in your mind and therefor what I say suddenly isn't correct anymore, and then you start inventing some crap.
i dont think he has ever said one positive thing on here...
More conjecture and crap you made up.
And the rest of your post is completely irrelevant.
If I'm wrong, DISPROVE ME. Hint: Prince giving away CDs once at a concert is not a pattern, Prince having a vault with hundreds of finished albums is. © Bart Van Hemelen

If Prince is gonna do something with this CD,he'd better hurry up.The year 2010 is almost over
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
In other words - there is no evidence at all that the cd will be available at US concerts. Totally 100% rumour.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
no one said there was evidence...the facts we have are that prince said the 20ten deluxe is ready to go and we have had another track 'rich friends' from the deluxe edition....i am making a prediction that it will come out with the concerts in december...this is a discussion website...if i am wrong then i will admit i was wrong...

I think releasing 20Ten in 20Eleven makes perfect Prince sense. Maybe the deluxe version will have Shelby on lead vocals, so if Prince decides to play the songs live, he won't have to do anything.

Nicky Tuzio just announced on a Concert thread that 20Ten Deluxe would be available at the CONCERT venues during the Welcome 2 America concerts. I can't vouch for the veracity of this information but here is the quote to take as you will:
"Hey Everyone............ Word that I got is that PRINCE will add one more evening at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN at the very least. Right now PROMOTERS and PRINCE are waiting for the three shows at the IZOD CENTER out in NEW JERSEY to be a SOLD OUT STAY or close to it. There are still seats available for all three shows where as the TWO PERFORMANCES SAT DEC 18th and WED DEC 29th at MSG are a COMPLETLEY SOLD OUT!! STAY TUNED FOR MORE DETAILS!! P.S......The other news I just got is that the album, " 20TEN DELUXE," will be released at the SHOWS here in NYC which will feature bonus tracks and extended versions of some great songs like LAY IT DOWN with an explosive eight minute version to close out the cd. RICH FRIENDS will be included as well. ALSO MICHAEL JACKSONS new album entitled," MICHAEL," will be released on TUESDAY DECEMBER 14th hence the FIRST NITE OF THE PRINCE TOUR here in AMERICA!! LOL!!"

Ahem. Just like I said.
Some people are looking MIGHTY stupid now.... |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Forget arguing about whether or not it will be released at the shows... I have other concerns:
IF it is released at the concerts, will it get a wider release? I can't afford to travel to NY for a show, does that mean no CD for me? Can I order a copy?
I ask these questions because I know I'll be able to download it illegally. If I can download it before I can buy it, I will. I'll still buy it, IF I can. If they only way to buy it is at the show, that will suck, because I want to pay $ for a physical copy.

Nothing makes him a reliable source...he may or may not be, I don't know. I just posted what he said--take it as you will, hopefully with a grain of salt. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Your ego is astounding. You routinely post rumour and conjecture, claim that you have insider knowledge to back it up, and then insist that Prince "changed his mind".
(And don't tell me this isn't a habit of yours: Care to share again your "facts" about the funk album you claim Prince almost released in 2008?)
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
moderator |
...And your negativity and OBVIOUS jealousy is even more astounding. Conjecture? You're the master of it, claiming I'm "desperate" to be seen as an insider, when not a single person on this site would agree with you on that.
As for "routinely" posting rumors, give me ONE example aside from bringing up the 2008 album plan, which there WAS solid evidence for. So Prince backtracked that time. Perhaps he'll backtrack this time, too. Nobody can possibly know that except Prince at this point. As stated, look at The Black Album - pulled while it was on the shipping trucks.
But there's strong EVIDENCE to support 20TEN Deluxe, just like there was strong EVIDENCE to support the album that contained "Prince & The Band" and "Turn Me Loose". There was EVIDENCE in 1980 that Prince was going to release "The Rebels". There was EVIDENCE that Prince was going to release that 7CD boxset of samples for producers and DJ's.
But he may well pull it at the last minute and I've never claimed otherwise, and if fans who view the glass as half empty want to use his past actions as justification that 20TEN Deluxe won't see the light of day, so be it. I prefer to see the glass half full, especially as I've said a million times now, I've spoken to someone who worked on the album numerous times and I've based my posts on what he's told me.
And if you want to doubt my credibility, fine. Do you remember who was the orger that posted the world's first review of "3121", SIX weeks before it came out, because he was invited to the listening party that Universal held in London? If you don't remember, it was me.
So continue to view me as some kind of egomaniac if you want.... that's your prerogative. I provide information where I can that many fans might not have known. There's people that appreciate it. Some of them have even posted in this thread to say that they appreciate it. Evidently you don't, so hit the "Back" button when you see my posts and move on with your life, kid.

Militant I appreciate your information you share with us. I think we can take your information with a grain of salt. Things can change when you have an Artist at work. We all know that. [Edited 11/8/10 21:02pm] 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Prince himself has mentioned 20ten Deluxe, just like he's mentioned (and in some cases ANNOUNCED) numerous other products that have been delayed, changed or altogether cancelled without ever seeing the light of day. Until it's announced officially that the album will be given away, or sold - which is a possibility, on the upcoming tour that IS just a rumor. But since he has commented on the sets existence and doesn't presently have a label deal in the US it seems as likely a method of distribution as any other.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
And once again I ask: DID THIS HAPPEN ALREADY?
NOPE.
So there.
Stop pretending we're in December, the concerts are done and people have received their copies. NONE OF THIS HAS HAPPENED. All you have are rumors and conjecture.
I'm still right, your claims are still unfounded.
Oh looke here, Prince did an interview before the Antwerp gig. Guess what he said? - He FIRST wants to release 20ten in Europe "regularly". (No idea which company would be dumb enough to invest in this, unless it is the "deluxe" edition -- note that Prince didn't say a word about the "deluxe" edition in this interview - Next he MIGHT start looking at getting it out in the US, but it was crystal clear the plans for that are even more flaky than for the Euro release.
He mentioned giving it out after a gig, or releasing it after a tour (to break the "release album - tour" cycle -- sweet jebus, the dude is DUMB). He mentioned cooperating with a chain of stores.
So let's see: - ZILCH support for your claims; - 100% confirmation what I have been saying: this is Prince, and even stuff that's announced officially has failed to materialize. Right now the release of 20ten (where/how/when) is nothing more than a vague notion in his mind. Anyone who claims that there are concrete plans is BULSHITTING. © Bart Van Hemelen

Your claim that 20ten will be handed out at the gigs is pure conjecture. Utter fantasy. There's ZERO EVIDENCE for this.
Wanna salvage your reputation? Stick to facts. Don't pretend that things are set in stone when they're clearly nothing more than a brainfart.
Oh please. I've seen people on this site being appreciative of some of the dumbest shit imaginable. This means ZILCH. So you've got a fanclub -- big frikking deal. [Edited 11/9/10 1:28am] © Bart Van Hemelen

I never said there were concrete release plans, Bart. If you look at the original post I made, it said it was LIKELY that Prince would give away the album with the shows. Likely because he did it on the Earth Tour and on the Musicology Tour. The solid evidence I provided was for the existence of the album, and this was even before the Peach and Black Podcast which further substantiated it. That's all.
I agree with the points you are making, so you don't need to bite my head off or be dismissive of the people that are happy to hear reliable information. Thanks for posting the information from the Antwerp interview. |

Fair point. But it's been the case with the last two tours that have been handled through large corporations (AEG for the Musicology and Earth tours)....and this tour is with LiveNation, we know the album exists and he is in need of a method of distribution for the US.... i'm just saying it's not a massive stretch to consider the possibility of the album being given away with the tickets. That's all. It's plausible. |
