I saw this album in the used bin for $7.99 today! WHY couldn't I find it that cheap when I was replacing mine???

the reason the alternate version was not on 1999 was because he did it later - around 1984 and he performed that version on his b day of that year. Its wrong for newpowersoul to call it a piano version, its not just the piano there are a lot of other sounds too. Its much better than the original as he sounds more like he means it and it sounds much less dated.

This one of the coolest songs ever.On 1999,I have always gravitate to Something...,All the Critics,and Lady..!Every version of this song rocks!!Check out Xenophobia's version,the "demo"?,the Neon Rendezvous...my version!!Oh!! Great ,great song!Very underrated by the masses.Screw the masses!!

I love "something in the water (does not compute)", I get chills whenever i listen to it. One of the many reasons why "1999" is such a great album. Absolutely love it.

Brilliant song...love it...the echoing funk of that beat, Prince's piercing vocals (especially that "heart in confused pain" screaming towards the end), and the haunting synth chords at the very end...perfection..
