Just buy the Lovesexy CD... it's tracked and you won't regret owning this masterpiece on CD.
If you have to track the iTunes album, I think you are wasting the sound, loosing the quality....
But: I think Audacity or even Nero could be usefull.... (?) Prince 4Ever. ![]()

if you have a Mac try GarageBand. I've done some song editing on there and it works pretty well. after you finish just save it back into iTunes then you can change all the song info again time flies.

The CD for Lovesexy is still one track in the US. Only European discs are tracked individually. Even the Japanese SHM released recently was one track.
Anyhoo... you can split the tracks with the free app Audacity on a Mac or a PC, but the simple thing to do would be to download the tracked version from a torrent site or any one of millions of blogspots. You own it already, so downloading a free split copy seems fair. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

European version is also a one track set.
I've ripped my own legal cd to mp3 on my pc and then cut this long mp3 using audacity from sourceforge.net

Hey
Right click the song and under "get information" choose "options" Then you go to "start" and leave 0:00 and under "End" you write the duration of first track (5:47). OK
Right click the song again and choose "create AAC version" .
You will have two songs with the same title, the original (45:03) and the new one (5:47). Rename this one as
It doesn't matter if you do it wrong since you will still have the original
Hope it helps | |

Easiest solution? Order the Lovesexy CD from http://www.amazon.co.uk/. I did this a year or so ago, and I haven't touched my 1 track version since.
It's very nice to finally be able to skip around to my favorite song sequences. I've seen the future, and boy it's rough...

That's where I got my tracked copy after years of having a CD-R that I split up on my own. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Does anybody know the complete times (with minutes and seconds) for the songs on 'Lovesexy'? I'm gonna seperate them using itunes as well. By the way, thanks Pandurito...why didn't I think of that? Check me out and add me on:

I used goldwave to separate the songs. Its free software for the first few months. You can also 'mix' the songs turning up bass and mid range etc. It made a HUGE difference with Dirty Ming for me.

Your times are off. At least one overlaps and a couple more skips several seconds.

I know when u play the full version of the album, there is some songs once it ends, there is like 2-5 seconds with no songs playing, then the songs comes up. and i overlap some songs by just half a seconds, like i did to When 2 r in love, when i did not overlap it, it sound wierd when i heard it. soo yea.
