Paisley Parks has an inhouse costume department (think its shown on one of the Oprah interviews) where most of his stuff is custom made under his strict guidance. Many of them are credited in Albums such as Debbie McGuan

This is actually a topic that hasn't been done to death here, at least as I recall. I'd be curious to hear some people in the know talk about it. Some of his outfits have been intricately done, and his clothes are so much a part of his image.

One outfit that I absolutely loved wasn't Prince's but I'm assuming was done by his clothing team: The suit Sheila wore on the cover of Romance 1600. I love the design of that album and sleeve--the blues and flowers and the butterflies. Love how the suit she was wearing tied in with the overall design.

Marie-France, Louis and Vaughn, Helen Hiatt, Helen Horatio to name a few.

For a long time (including all of the LoveSexy era) his clothes were designed by Stacia Lang. She was based at Paisley Park where there was a completewardrobe department (including moost manufacturing). I read someplace that in an interview Stacia Lang had said Prince told her some of her designs were a little 2 wierd 4 him, and her mind boggled at that comment!

Prince woudl sketch what he wanted, the designer would either follow that or comeback with their own sketches.

Jon is very talented and has worked off an on for Prince over the years. I had the privalage to own a few of his custom suits (before he work for Prince) and in the Minneapolis are Jon was the best there was! Look at many of the mid 90's clothes Prince wore. I would say more than 60% of those Jon was responsible for.

Yea, what you have pictured was not it. There was a large type (womans?) magazine. About 3/4 to an inch thich. Similar photos, but more detail. Probably came out before this one. It was about Prince's clothing. An interesting article. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

It may have been Elle or a magazine like that. Circa 1994 or 1995.

I think he may have passed away. Did he have really long hair back then?
