Does anyone actually like this song? I can't help but laugh at the imagery the lyrics conjure up for me.

I don't mind it. Not his best, but not the worst. The outtake version is much better, though.

It's Black Hills. As in the Black Hills of South Dakota, which has a large Native American population.
But I'm gonna hear "black heels" from now on... thanks. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I Rock Therefor I Am is worse.... Prince 4Ever.

As a southerner, I've always heard it as "heels" knowing it was "hills"...
Which made the next line, which I've never actually confirmed via lyric site, even better. "When he was younger, he used to tell her these heels would longer steel." Um, what? lol
I actually love the song itself, though.

Yes, I know this BUT... due to the way he says it, from the very first time I heard this track it has been "heels"...
An Indian woman buried her grampa in the black heels
It's like some multi-generational indian drag queen story...

I was wondering if you were serious or not. I get it now.
Some folks swear that Prince sings "psycho neverhands" in Pink Cashmere. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

I love the song as well. The whol Chaos and Disorder album actually. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."

incredibly dull/random rock track; the kind of song that destroyed C&D's credibility
