or he can combine less played hits with all the outtake stuff he never performed.

Instead Prince plays short Let's go Crazy and Take me With you .

Is Prince lazy?

I mean he have some songs rehearsed that he plays over and over

for more then a decade and why bother to update?

I think he thinks that the fans like those songs more than others..I personally want him to play "Style" live.

Generally, the smaller the audience, the more varied and interesting the setlists become.

The bigger the audience becomes, the more well known hits and album tracks are played.

Really? It was apart of the Musicology set as well as some of the ONA shows.

he could play just about any song i'm happy to be in the same room

I wish he would do 1/2 the show in newer/less popular songs. I'd love to hear She Loves Me For Me, Thieves in the Temple, and Somebody's Somebody..stuff like that. The other half of the show can be hits like Kiss, Let's Go Crazy, Cream because let's face it....everyone knows those words and the crowd is very wild and energetic during those because we do know the words and can sing along, and those are awesome, fun songs!! And a Prince concert w/o Purple Rain..wouldn't just be the same. It'd be like a MJ concert w/o Billie Jean, it just isn't the same!!

I agree. This is my favorite song from 'Purple Rain'. I tell myself he doesn't play it because he has to change that line "I'm ur Messiah" whenever he does because he's a saved man now and that's blasphemy right there. I want him to play more unreleased songs from 'D&P', 'The Gold Experience', and the Symbol album because there are some outstanding songs on those albums that never got pushed as singles. I'd also love to hear 'Crucial' and 'Acknowledge Me' from Crystal Ball. Here's to hoping.

But that was originally how it was written. It's also still in the original recording. If he redid any of his older songs, I'm betting this will be the first one he picks to redo. Personally, I like it the old way because I get what he's saying in the format of the song, but I guess he had a change of heart shortly after recording it. It's still a great song.

He'll just say, "He's your messiah."
