Which one and why. Im having a hard time choosing. Only time I like more about 200 balloons is that it doesnt have any of those distracting voices.

"200 Balloons" hands down.

"Batdance" is lame as fuck.

Batdance, marginally. It would be so much better if it didn't include the movie samples.

I think the movie samples and "Batdaaaa-aaaance" chorus are lame (always have). But I dig the music, the different sections and tempos used. And there's certainly nothing wrong with the guitar work in that song. Imagine he was singing "Glaaaam Slaaaaaam" in place of "Batdaaa-aaaaaance" and it becomes a much better song.

Honestly, the whole thing is just a cornball circus to me. Like Spinilght said, I don't get the appeal at all.

Regarding the album itself, I think The Future, Electric Chair and Vicki Waiting are brilliant.

The rest meander between listenable and whatever level of hell you want to place the title track.

I can't put the title track any further in than the foyer, but I've heard Arms of Orion is the theme song for the 7th level.

I'd like Vicki Waiting more if I it was a different name. It is a great track, though.

Both, they're as similar as they are different.

Probably Batdance, I like the suite-like nature of it, very cool and totally Prince to release something like this as a single and for it to go #1 (even on the back of movie) - More than a novelty song.

200 Balloons.

Batdance is a fun track, but nowhere near as brilliant as people claim it to be. It's simply a lot of cut and paste work without much creative cohesion.

Batdance folks can say what they want, but the summer of Batman along with this video was smoking. I still think it is one of Prince's best videos-he did the two-sided thing well

segue them together. Remember when Batdance first came out it was hailed as a highky innovative in it's structure. Screw that though, the drums and chicken grease guitar are addictive!

Batdance for the "Ooo Yeah, I wanna bust that body" part

BatDance, I like the beat of the song and some of the lyrics too

BATDANCE - ideal first single as it gave you a feel for what the album was, I love the vibe of this 2 songs in 1 fit with the frenetic power dancebeats and the funky shuffling groove giving you the impression that Prince was really working that blender in the studio that night sampling no fewer than six songs ~ "200 Balloons", "Power and Soul", "House in Order" "Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic", "The Future", and "Electric Chair". I loved how he mixed the dialogue from the film throughout Batdance.

200 Balloons the b-side to Batdance was so obviously written for the parade scene in Bat Man (replaced by Trust) I can’t help but watch the movie and not hear this song at that moment. Obviously Prince thought it was good enough to incorporate into the main groove of Batdance, it’s a track that is such a moment in time in that album that it’s hard to separate it as a Prince song in it’s own right. Although I do love the “cry, cry, cry I love it when you moan” part and hearing Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic and House in Order sampled throughout. Like the man says himself “the funk is multilayered”.

And my vote goes to: Batdance.
