I find it unusual that The Hits collections, and Ultimate and The Very Best Of... did not make higher chart positions

Albums of that kind usually go much higher, don't they?

You can tell this is an old list because it's still rockin the 13x plat on Purple Rain. I'm pretty sure PR has hit 16-20 now, I even remember reading about it here. The 13x plat figure is recent as of 1996, which means there's got to be a change now. This goes for all of those albums on the list.

yes, according to riaa "Purple Rain" has sold 13 000 000 million copies in the US (05/16/1996). No change, so far...

the problam with this is its not updated at all.

1999 has sold more than 4 and dirty mind has sold over 1,000,000

just not updated

the singles are worse..they all need to be updated especially the singles sold b4 1989 when the standard was changed from a gold single being 1mill and platinum being 2+ mill

to gold being 500,000 and platinum bein 1mill
