The song was even called "Welcome To The Rat Race" on some boots at the time.

Also, if you're not completely sure what you heard... "Escape" (b-side to "Glam Slam") also uses the lyric "Free your mind from this rat race".

Indeed, "Escape" mentions "Free your mind from this rat race".

It should also be mentioned that a rerecording of "In A Large Room With No Light", minus a whole verse that had the F word in it, was released a year or two ago online, and is floating around.

This is one of my favorite songs from Prince. I have the unreleased 1986 version and the newer version (circa 2009) that was on the "Swiss Castle Magic" boot.

I freakin love that song! I remember hanging out at a celebration with some Prince fans in Chanhassen, Minnesota (in 2001). Someone put a CD in the CD player in our rental car that had this song on it. The other people starting laughing and making fun of it, and wanted to skip to the next song. I said, "Hey, I like this song!", so they let me listen to it. Memories!
