Come on guys, can someone who believes this to be a decent album explain to me WHY you think that particular way? I am shocked by the mediocre lyrics and honestly, disappointed.

So what am I missing? What are you listening to that I'm not?

Have you liked any of Prince's recent (2004 onwards) albums? I fail to see how 20TEN is miles better or worse than anything from the last decade. Personally, I dig the classic Minneapolis sound production on 20TEN so it elevates the music in my eyes.

It's worse than LotusFlower, but A LOT better than MPLShit, and certainly funnier than PE...

If you don't like it, don't listen to it. No one is going to convince your tastes otherwise. The argument over which Prince album is good or not is a constant one. It's your own taste, and there's nothing wrong with that. But to ask someone to convince you, or explain to you, why the album is good or not - it's bait-y.

I like the album alot. I have it on heavy rotation. I listen to it instead of the radio.

From my point of view there's not one album Prince has ever put out that I do not like. 20Ten has a MPLSoUND feel to it and it's not too far off 'musically' from 1999 and some critics actually have compared it to 1999. The only song that I didn't like from first listen was 'Act of God', I just didn't like the tempo and groove of the song, now I do. P's given me everything musically and I'd rate the lyrics a 3 1/2 out of 5 for the album.

20Ten was a funk bomb exploding in your living room like a mad clown in summer.

If you didn't witness that, sorry for you. But don't expect anybody to convince you the album was good. Either you listen and like it, or you don't. I dare to question the assumption that anybody cares.

If you like it, great. If you don't, no big. I think it's safe to say that a majority of people only like some of the album. Quite a few people, like me, REALLY like some songs (Beginning Endlessly, Future Soul Song, Laydown), really HATE others (Compassion, Everybody Loves Cheese) and everything else falls somewhere in between those extremes. It's different for everyone, which I think makes it a worthy listen. I definitely don't think it's a shit album, though. Not even close.

Edit: The song listed are just my examples. Please don't start beating me about the head and shoulders with a purple umbrella or sumfin'.

Other than Compassion, the album harkings back to Prince's funk roots that we longed for since the days of 1999. So yeah you should really like this album, and a real, true Prince fan will love Everbody Love Me. Too Funky!

If we (princely fans) have to explain why u should like 2010, it's best u move on to a different artist. its all juss normal classic Prince...if it is that foreign to u, u u might juss not be rolling along as Prince is, only certain fans can keep up..no offense...but usually only the sexy people. word. This album is creamy...still better than most crap out there now.
