Tamar-Milk & Honey, what is Prince's role? I am requesting some information about Prince's involvement on Tamar's Milk & Honey album. I understand that Sonny T and Michael B played on the album, but i can find no other information. Does anyone know (for sure) what Prince's involvement was? What songs did he write/produce? What instruments did he play on the album? Thanks in advance.

He co-wrote and played guitar on very track i believe. The Red Headed Stepchild riff sounds like a direct lift off of American Woman. I saw the mini tour he did w/ her at the Fillmore, SF. He extended almost every song with epic solo's. Great show.

I understand he wrote all the music, played most of the instruments and Tamar wrote or co-wrote the lyrics.

As far as I remember, P Co-wrote, Axed, Engineered Milk and Honey.
But Tamar was holding her own well, she write's a lot of her own material, as well as the musical arrangement.
Found this.. Recording “MILK & HONEY” at Prince’s Minneapolis studio was a ground-up process. “This album was driven first by the bass line,” explains Davis. “I’d sit at the piano and play the bass line. Then I’d bring in live musicians to build on that bass line. Afterwards, I would harmonize a melody on top of that, just humming or singing la, la, la. The longer I grooved to the track, I would begin to feel something personal.” Keenmeister

Thanks everyone. So it seems pretty safe to assume that Prince's input was significant. At the very least co-writing and playing at least one instrument on each track.

"Kept Woman" on Elixer is pretty much exactly the same as it appeared on the Tamar album, with the exception of course of the lead vocals and some slightly different synths. That suggests to me that that song is more or less a complete Prince composition/production. But yeah, although there's no evidence, I reckon Milk & Honey is pretty much all Prince with some tracks having stemed from jam sessions with Michael B & Sonny T, and Cora & Josh. Yeah, that was a great show. I just wish he would have done a few more of his own songs.
