Do u think some of Prince early records, such as countroversy and 1999 have any subliminal messages? I remember listening 2 Darlin' Nikki backwards 4 the first time and thinkin' wtf, I loved it death, but it sure did scare the hell out of me in all the same, that's why I love this guy, he's scares u yet he's just so darn beautiful :Smile:. 2 continue this subject, I always use 2 think alot of Prince music back in days, had a whole different meaning from whatever we thought he was singing about. Prince had a strange obession 4 religion and sex, and I thought that in his music that was the message that was getting across...
but listen 2 this, one day I was blasting the song I would die 4 u in my bedroom, and my 4 year old niece said "it sounds like he's saying I would devil u" and when I listened 2 the song again, I was like it sure does sound like, and when you think about the words "I'm not a woman, I'm not a man, I am something u'll never understand..." and so forth, The title I would devile u makes a much more sense then I would die 4 u. Just think about at the end of the second verse Prince sings ... "no need 2 worry, no need 2 cry, I'm ur messiah and u'r the reason why, u" , I would devil u" Ain't that a trip?

The only reason why I brought this topic up, is cuz back in the dayz I was listening 2 Prince it was this kinda rumor going on around that Prince was in some kinda devil whorshiper, When I was in highschool, whenever I said I listen 2 prince, people would always say... "don't he worship the devil or something?". I never believe this 2 be true, cuz his lyrics was always on a postive note, you know singing about love and God and everything, but then I was just thinking about the song I would die 4 u, and making fun of the content and it's meaning, listen...

Prince = 6 letters
Rogers = 6 letters
Nelson = 6 letters which equals 666

not forget 2 mention the defiant meaning of "Lets go crazy" I don't think there's a sublimial message ... but Prince said the song was about God and The devil...

"Whenever the devil tries 2 put u down, Go 2 God" I think the whole purple rain was about Prince fighting with his demons and He trying to find a better way out personally... he was caught between evil and good
