this would be a very easy costume for halloween..i already got stuff similar to purple rain,i was gonna make the graffiti bridge untitard and oversized cream shirt next...

pretty much the lamest look prince has ever had. i dont get why people drool over that picture of him wearing the yellow suit like this. laaaaaame.

Ummmm...yeah. The average joe can't make a suit like that. Finding the fabric is the least of it. A peak lapel, double-breasted jacket is very difficult to tailor properly - especially with the kind of fabric used for Prince's suits. Which, back in those days, tended to be fabric used more often for women's clothing.

And then, there are the high-waisted, pegged pants. There is nothing more difficult to fit than a pair of pants.

I've been sewing for 40 years - and even I would think twice about making something like that. It'd be insanely time consuming, if nothing else.

I'd take Genesia's advice, seems the easiest solution and you get the results.

Merely sewing on buttons isn't "making" anything. And you can't dye a suit. You'll end up with a total mess.

I very seriously doubt that you've bought a fully tailored suit and dyed it. You're talking out of your ass.
