Yeah...it was quite terrible....followed by a even more terrible MPLSound....and a little lesser terrible 20Ten.
thank Jehova that Lotusflower stands out to remind us a little of his real talents...yet you would tend to forget that after so much dissapointmentsz....

I find it hard to believe that Prince even created PE...... When people tell me they like it(very few people have) I ask them... If another artist made this album, would you enjoy it then? Its a truly shocking album.

First five tracks of this album are GREAT in my opinion. The last song is one of the most horrendous I've ever heard from him.
That's pretty good. Almost no Prince album has 5 tracks in a row I think are all great. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

I think it's solid enjoyable pop album, Not one song I don't like.
I think Future Baby Mama, Mr Goodnight and Chelsea Rodgers would have better off on a different a more RnB focused album. The Morning after should have been put on this album, would have been a perfect fit
The One U Wanna C is it's highlight and the best of the decade.
I also love Resolution, I do agree he lyrics are a dumb but it is just a great feel good track, pure pop. I don't get why there are some that hate this song or album.

One of the better albums in the past 10 years, with 20Ten and 3121 eeking out the other two in the top 3.

Though I never really listen to it as an album, but the material on it is some of my favorite post-TRC era.
The stuff I come back to tends to be from the second half of the LP, and I think Guitar, with a little work on the lyrical flow, could've been his best single of the decade (not much competition I know).

Uneven album; 3 years after its original release, only SHOE (never a fan, anyway), Lion of Judah (the kind of song that could have fitted nicely on TRC had it not been a jazz album) and Chelsea Rodgers (great jam) have stood the test of time as modern "classics" or "strong songs"; The 1 U Wanna C could have been great but those truly cheesy lyrics destroyed the enjoyment completely ("I got a lot of money!"... ) ; FBM and Mr.G sound like just-ok 3121 leftovers, and the happy guitar-pop tracks (Resolution, Midnights in the World, and Guitar-which is perhaps his dullest and boring rock song ever) are the kind of songs that I'd expect in an Avril Lavigne album (in other words: EMBARRASSING...) and I'm not kidding ; and the title-track is blaaaaaaaaand...a harder-rockier sound would have been perfect...
Not a bad album, but as I said, certainly uneven...in the same category as For You, Emancipation, Chaos & Disorder or 20Ten...

Truly shocking? Any artist who could create gems such as "Planet Earth", "Somewhere Here On Earth" and "Chelsea Rodgers" would get my respect. Those three in particular are up there with his best of the decade.
"Guitar", "The One U Wanna C", "FBM" and "Mr. Goodnight" are all respectable, if not classics. It's only the last three tracks that I find a little weak. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

I agree toejam, i think there are only a couple of weak tracks on the album. Planet Earth contains some of the most singable tunes in a long time. Guitar, The One U Wanna C, and Chelsea Rodgers are perfect pop imo. I like my Prince to be a little more avant garde, but i really do like the playfullness on PE, he sounds happy, and confident.
