List of Artist Prince refused to work with

Do you think Prince get a lot of calls to contribute or work with other artists?

Name the artist you know Prince refused to work with.

Prince refused to work with :

Bob Dylan, beleive it or not seen Prince on

early during Dirty Mind Tour.

He sent Prince an offer but Prince refused.

Diana Ross-wanted Prince to produce her ,

but he didn't want to do it,so she asked Nile Rogers.

Andre Cymone was angry because he refused Diana

USA for Africa ( We Are The World)
Wendy and Lisa (Roadhouse Garden)

That's just off the dome. I'm sure there are plenty others.

Really? Never heard that one before. What's the source? I can't imagine Prince working with Bob Dylan - at least not around the Dirty Mind era lol

NeW York Dirty Mind concert that circulates on video, well Prince was seen by few celebrities that night like Mick Jagger who was thrilled by Prince's performance

(latter Mick Jagger invited Prince to open for the Rolling Stones.

Beside Mick there was Bob Dylan who was also

impressed with Prince and Dylans managment reached

Prince and ask for a meeting and a possible colaboration

but Prince refused to meet Dylan. eek

Prince had that crazy attitude, few years latter when legendary

blues guitar player Stevie Ray Vaughn aproached Prince ,Prince didn't even look at Stevie,

he ignored him without saying a word.

vitriol

^The incident with Dylan was at First Avenue, MPLS.

I never heard about the intention of a collaboration. I just read that Dylan was seeing him perform and asked to meet & greet but Prince wasn't interested.

Where does the story about Diana asking Prince to produce her and Andrè getting pissed about that come from?

Why didn't he offer to produce Whitney in her prime, honestly up to 1995 the sister gave me goosebumps, don't believe imagine Prince producing "All the man I need" or could you imagine her singing "Love thy will be done" rather than Martika?

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

I remember around 1990 or so Jon Bon Jovi said publicly that he wanted to work with Prince. he said he could add rock to Prince's sound and Prince could add some funk to his. No response from Prince - happily.

Your Honour, Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I submit this as evidence that Prince DOES, occasionally, make good decisions from time to time. cool

I don't recall hearing that. I do remember in 1991, Jon Bon Jovi wanted to use the NPG band to record.

lol I never heard that statement before. Maybe becoming a JW has changed things. Now the likes of Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas, and Jeff Beck are "sleeping with his woman."

If my memory serves me correctly, I think it was in the Spin article in 1991.

Yeah, no project. But i would love to see him sit in with a major rock band of that era, for 80's music fans it would be a great. I'd love to see him sit in with Blondie

Uh, no. Prince put the word out via the press that he wanted to work on Roadhouse Garden w/ Wendy and Lisa, but he never actually called him. W&L said they heard about it after the fact. At one point he asked them to come to MPLS for the Revolution reunion @ The Celebration, but he wanted them to 'renounce lesbianism'. They declined.

There was a time when he didn't want to work with Me'Shell Ndegeocello. I know they worked with each other during the Emancipation era, but I remember Me'Shell saying in a recent BBC interview that when she was in the process of writing some stuff for her and Prince to do, Prince kinda brushed her off in a arrogant way, saying that the reason he wouldn't work with her is because of label reasons. I was kinda shocked when I heard this after hearing that one of the cuts they did together is on the Emancipation album (even though it's uncredited)....

Which was the track for Emancipation? I know I read about before but I forgot which song.

I saw Me'Shell live a couple months ago, in Vancouver. Great show.

Which track indeed?

DeVante Swing from JoDeCi had some form of declination from his Royal Badness, TTD, Ke$ha? Let the debate (fights) proceed... mr.green

Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

Whitney would have probably been all over it (I don't know about her management). I remember an interview in Star Hits where she was asked who she wanted to collaborate with and her answer was Prince.
