Prince and Public Enemy I'm listening to "By The Time I Get To Arizona" by Public Enemy and I remember watching a video clip of Prince accepting an award from Public Enemy at the 2000 Yahoo Awards and Prince apologized to the audience for PE's "bad language" when they introduced him. Was anybody else put off by this. It just rubbed me the wrong way that Prince would speak on someone's behalf basically apologizing for their freedom of choice to say what they want. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

Yea, so lame. Especially since Chuck D. was on his 2000 album in "undisputed" - wonder if he regretted that decision.

It's always the same with Prince: preach this, do that.

I've read an interview of prince recently where he said he had a great conversation with Chuck D about music and politics.
They worked together on George Clinton's Cinderfella Theory album and I guess they're pretty good friends

Prince did not rub me the wrong way, however the language used by pe at a televised award show did. I mean there is a place for that kind of language,(On record) . Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

So True and I love me some PE, been there since their first album and was happy to see he worked with Chuck D. We all know that televised performances if the language is 'Adult' then it won't be televised and sounds all choppy ... Peace ... & Stay Funky ...
