I remember back in the summer of 84. Me and a family friend went to Spenders and they one look like Prince's sunglass. I'm not for sure is they still got it!

I remember back in the 80s when Purple Rain came out, I would see mirrored round sunglasses like Prince's for sale many different places..record stores, Spencers, places like that.

Of course, I had a pair, as did most of my Prince-fan friends. I loved those sunglasses and wore mine until they literally fell apart.

Glasses like those? You can own them, but can you OWN them? I would imagine a big heart shaped face would look goofy in them.

Wow, we actually have a thread on this? My guess has always been that on the set of PR, there was a costume consultant like any movie, and they prolly told Prince to wear these. I IMAGINE it going something like.... "Yeah Prince, and in this scene where you are stalking her in the club, we thought it would be really cool if you wore some of those 60's volkswagon head light sun glasses. It will be cool because you are in a dark club, and you really don't need them, but you have them on any way, and people will see you and go..... cool............. no......... no Prince we took out the part where you stand real close to her and unzip your pants while panting like a dog, we thought that was a little over the top.................. that's right we all felt it was creepy.....................yes we all know the whole manipulating someone to jump naked in a lake in December is creepy too, but we get to see boob."
