I gotta admit that during this era he was probably at his most creative, since Emancipation.

He was actually growing as an artist despite the JW stuff, which wasn't as overbearing as it is now.

I also love the 1999/Purple Rain stage set up

If he would have brought 2 specifics into his scene again at this time,

I think this era type would have went to a higher level.
