The only thing good about this interview is the info about Prince's knee. We all now know why he has stopped dancing on stage.

It was really funny.

The whole "Prince has been living in Prince world for quite some time" is both hilarious and very close to the truth.
When you are a huge star no one dares say no to you (Look at MJ and his face - someone surely should have said "Mike you look like a fuckin` freak " , instead of which they say "another nose ,and one that is even more pliable !- GREAT IDEA Mr. Jackson ").

The Record labels start this process when an artist starts bringing the money in.
It`s a shame that with his freedom and rejection of most the record industry ways , that Prince hasn`t renounced such nonsense as surrounding himself with "yes men".

I watched this last night and was cracking up throughout. Kevin definitely seemed perplexed and a little pissed off by Prince and his antics. He comes off honest and likeable, and is quite candid about nearly everything so i doubt he's making all that stuff up. I think Kevin just went without asking a lot of questions out of curisotiy and excitement to work with and meet Prince, not in some attempt to get the song. He even said he forgot about it when they were talking. Making me sit by the phone waiting for him to call after 3 or 4 promises seemed kind of rude to me as well. Kevin brushed off a lot of bullshit out of respect and admiration "...because, you know, it's fucking Prince."

Would've cheesed me off too, except I would've known to expect it. Dividing up the room into groups of "beleivers" and non-beleivers" is straight up fucked, and more than a little insulting. Glad I wasn't there for that and I hope he never does it while I'm in attendance. Maybe Kevin could've countered Prince's lecture about profanity with a little Q & A about manners, punctuality and hospitality. He really handled it pretty well I thought, and cracked me up telling the story.

Good disc, overall. Kev's approach borders on interactive stand-up comedy. Jason Mewes is a fucking riot too.

I am not implying that ALL people who come to this site are Fanatics, Laura. However, there are CLEARLY some people on this site who fall into that catagory with their nonstop rantings about how miraculous Prince is, how they want to have his children, how no other artist is as talented as he is, et cetera . THOSE would be the people that I am referring to, period.

someone in this thread said kevin came off as a "crying bitch"... actually all kevin accomplished was doing a great service to people in the entertainment industry... prince is a flake who over the years has become more of the kind of person who is oblivious as to how he treats others.

now after hearing kevin's tale, it is up to other folks if they actually want to work with someone like prince... after hearing kevin's brutally honest story, many of those that may have been interested, surely no longer are.

a lot of folks are like kevin. they have no problem doing stuff for free... but when prince can't even communicate on the most basic of levels as a human being... or show even the slightest amount of respect (past prince's kissing up to kevin because he wanted something)... well... who wants to work with someone like that?

if they want drama, they'll watch tnt, or listen to early mary j.

p.s. anyone that's seen kevin's movie "jay & silent bob strike back" remember morris, jerome & the time's performance of "jungle love" in the movie... now, you can be sure that kevin has nothing but kind words for morris, jerome & the rest of the time... (in fact, peep the commentary for the dvd for the movie)... and you can be sure morris & the time have nothing but nice words about how they were treated by kevin, etc during the filming... that's the difference between someone in "prince land" and... well... the rest of us.
