Interesting to see inspiration was most high during the 80's on this list too.
By the way, isn't 'Electric intercourse' circulating too?

A lot of these are circulating, although some are barely snippets. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I don't think there is a studio version of Electric Intercourse altho I could be wrong. One of the other orgers might know more. Prince esta muerto...

True, but also remember information on post-Warner unreleased recordings is scant at best.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
A lot? I don't think a lot, in comparison with the size of the list, are circulating at all.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Agreed. But there is a decent amount of them that are cirulating in full or as snippets. Not sure I'd call it a lot, though.

To those who have heard, what are the best must-haves of the list?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
For me, it is any "rare" jewel that hasn't been released or even if the track was released.
For example, I love to get tracks where Prince is actually singing on demo tracks that he has written for other artist. I love to hear Prince sing "Bedtime Story" (Sheila E); "All Day, All Night" (Jill Jones); "Never Be Another Fool" (Chaka Khan) etc. I have "Rain" but it is a 16 second intro for "Hallucination Rain".
Or, if I "find" an extended version of an unreleased track ("Billy's sunglasses"). That kinda stuff just makes my day... [Edited 9/22/10 16:00pm] [Edited 9/22/10 16:01pm] "A united state of mind will never be divided

These are the Poet 99 tracks that were leaked.

What's on the list is an unreleased and uncirculating song from 1981.
Nothing to do with Hallucination Rain intro and outro segues.

Except for circulating clips and erroneous inclusions, this is a list of uncirculating songs, so........

I've never even heard of most of these...and I've been around y'know.... I would love to hear any of them....
What about 12:01...? | |

^It's an acoustic blues number played during the acoustic guitar sections of the Musicology tour.
Circulating on various boots. Certainly nothing to write home about.

Just 4 the record, Aguadilla isn't properly a Prince composition: Eric re-used a line from Desire and mixed it with his own composition. For some reason (probably marketing reasons: some Prince fans wouldn't have bought it if not 4 a supposedly new original Prince song), him and Prince chose to have Prince credited as a co-writer instead of putting a "contains elements from the composition Desire" notice, but Prince had nothing to do with it and it should not be listed as a Prince composition more than any of the numerous hip-hop tracks sampling or replaying parts of Prince songs and there4 crediting Prince as co-writer. Question for the die hards......
In the 80's I had lots of tapes containing demo's and outtakes. These tapes are no longer in my possession, because the digital age all replaced them in better quality. Yesterday one of those unreleased songs popped into my head and I started searching in my iTunes for it, but could not find it.
As I can remember, the song "belonged" to a group of songs from the '82 era. Moonbeam Levels, No Call U etc. I believe the title was Turn ME Up. (not the song Turn it Up ofcourse, I have that
The chorus went something like this....... "Ooooooooooh Ooooooooooh Weoooooooh, baby u turn me up, baby u turn me up".......... Singing about "a brand new dance" etc. It contained just a sparse drumbeat IIRC.
Maybe a silly description, but does this ring a bell to anyone? It could be from a rehearsal, I am not sure. If somebody could tell me the correct title, or tell me on which compilation I could find it, I would appreciate this!
Regards,
Doc. | |
