Tremolina

Interesting to see inspiration was most high during the 80's on this list too.

By the way, isn't 'Electric intercourse' circulating too?

^Live and rehearsal versions are.

A real studio version isn't even known to exist.

A lot of these are circulating, although some are barely snippets.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I don't think there is a studio version of Electric Intercourse altho I could be wrong. One of the other orgers might know more.

True, but also remember information on post-Warner unreleased recordings is scant at best.

Agreed. But there is a decent amount of them that are cirulating in full or as snippets. Not sure I'd call it a lot, though.

Don't You Wanna Ride?
Hey Lover
Nightingale
Hard To Get
The Loser (mistakenly referred to as Turn Me On)

Strange Way

These are widely circulating. Everybody who want them have them.

Rain
I'm sure you don't have this.

Dance To The Beat

Electric Intercourse
U Want Me
What you have is a live version. Also rehearsal versions for E. Intercourse.

Lust U Always
You have a 10min instrumental version. There are only 14-16 secs of the vocal version circulating.

Moral Majority
My Baby KnowsMy Baby Knows How 2 Love Me
Traffic Jam (instrumental)

Big House
What you have are snippets. And you seem to be lacking some more that are out there, BTW.

Father's Song
Snippet from the movie or rehearsal versions, not a proper complete studio version.

Wednesday
A piano rehearsal, not the finished studio item.

Our Destiny
Roadhouse Garden
Live and rehearsal versions, not the studio tracks.

Latino Barbie Doll
Mayte's 1995 version which is widely circulating. Not the Sheila E 1987 original (or Prince's demo if it exists).

Take This Beat – (ev. inc. into I Wish U Heaven Pt 3)
You can have the released version attached to IWUH, we can't be sure if he pasted the song as is, or if the studio original was any different.

What Did I Do?

If U Let Me Undress U
Live versions is what there is. Studio versions probably do not exist.

A Man Called Jesus
Mavis Staples' version is officially released. The 1998 version by Cat is not circulating.

Ooh Bee Shoo Bee Doo Koo Shoo Ooh - Oobey Doop

There's only 1 of these mixes circulating, whilst several do indeed exist.

Hey, U
Just a rehearsal. Not a studio track.

Aguadilla
Of course, officially released by Eric Leeds.

Utopia

Objects In The Mirror

Magnificent
Officially released (unless there's an unreleased version which is not circulating).

So, you see, nothing new under the sun.

For me, it is any "rare" jewel that hasn't been released or even if the track was released.

For example, I love to get tracks where Prince is actually singing on demo tracks that he has written for other artist. I love to hear Prince sing "Bedtime Story" (Sheila E); "All Day, All Night" (Jill Jones); "Never Be Another Fool" (Chaka Khan) etc. I have "Rain" but it is a 16 second intro for "Hallucination Rain".

Or, if I "find" an extended version of an unreleased track ("Billy's sunglasses"). That kinda stuff just makes my day... nod cool cool

What's on the list is an unreleased and uncirculating song from 1981.

Nothing to do with Hallucination Rain intro and outro segues.

Just 4 the record, Aguadilla isn't properly a Prince composition: Eric re-used a line from Desire and mixed it with his own composition. For some reason (probably marketing reasons: some Prince fans wouldn't have bought it if not 4 a supposedly new original Prince song), him and Prince chose to have Prince credited as a co-writer instead of putting a "contains elements from the composition Desire" notice, but Prince had nothing to do with it and it should not be listed as a Prince composition more than any of the numerous hip-hop tracks sampling or replaying parts of Prince songs and there4 crediting Prince as co-writer.

Question for the die hards......

In the 80's I had lots of tapes containing demo's and outtakes. These tapes are no longer in my possession, because the digital age all replaced them in better quality. Yesterday one of those unreleased songs popped into my head and I started searching in my iTunes for it, but could not find it.

As I can remember, the song "belonged" to a group of songs from the '82 era. Moonbeam Levels, No Call U etc. I believe the title was Turn ME Up. (not the song Turn it Up ofcourse, I have that smile

The chorus went something like this....... "Ooooooooooh Ooooooooooh Weoooooooh, baby u turn me up, baby u turn me up".......... Singing about "a brand new dance" etc. It contained just a sparse drumbeat IIRC.

Maybe a silly description, but does this ring a bell to anyone? It could be from a rehearsal, I am not sure. If somebody could tell me the correct title, or tell me on which compilation I could find it, I would appreciate this!

Regards,

Doc.
