Internet purgatory.

I just bought the PFUNK single on iTunes. It really broke my heart because I didn't want to pay for it seeing as how it was given away for free, but I bit the bullet anyway cuz the song is the jam. Forgot how good it was! Some of his internet throwaway tracks disappear from my radar since they are usually terrible. I think "PFUNK" (now simply listed as "FUNK" on iTunes) and "Turn Me Loose" are the only album-quality internet releases he's done since the NPGMC.

I wonder where the royalty checks for this iTunes stuff goes to.

I bought it last year and have only listened to it not more than 5 times. It doesn't do much for me

It's a little long. I don't think it needs to go on for almost 8 minutes. But it would work nicely, I think, with about 3 minutes chopped off the end. Eventually, all of the extended jam endings sound the same. (The extended jam ending to PFUNK, Damned If I Do, Holy River, Baby Knows, etc are all the same to me.)

I wonder if he gets a larger royalty since there is no record company involved, anyway definitely worth the $.99

I really like PFunk, i agree that it is a little on the long side, but it is what it is.

I listened to all of the NPGMC tracks just last week, and there really are some gems in among that lot, i think it's a pity that the NPGMC releases/downloads seem to get overlooked somewhat.

since he owns his own record label, Apple would pay NPG records directly. This is why I've never understood why he doesn't release more stuff on iTunes. What better and more profitable way to get his music to his fans. Everything he release through NPGMC and 3121.com is now out of print, had he released it through iTunes instead, it'd still be available and still generating revenue.
