It's not my favorite, but I have to give the song credit for being one of the best to get the dancefloor going out at the clubs. The sad thing is that when people (non-Prince fans) find out I'm a Prince fan, they often tell me "Ooh, yeah, I love Pussy Control!" It's one of the few Prince songs non-fans my age (30) actually know and can name as a Prince song

Reminds me of Violet the Organ Grinder. In that song, I thought the lyrics where fantastic even though the song was OK in general.

But P control is good. I was like :O what is this, when I first heard it. Thought it was cool, hook is meh. But Love Symbol is my favorite album anyways.'

Oh woops I think it was on Gold. Idk, I forgot.

Gold, Love Symbol, Chaos and Disorder are all in my top 5 fav.

I agree! I never liked this song.The chorus is annoying,Prince's "gangsta" attitude is even more annoying,and the whole thing sounds silly and childish.

It's the only promo video I haven't been able to track down....found all the others shown before the 95 gigs except this elusive litle blighter

Same here, I've only ever seen the clip that was on the Housequake. It was filmed outside a club and Prince is singing the verse (I pulled up right beside her, my electric top went down....) to a girl, who I didnt recognise. Has anyone ever seen the full video?

It might be regional. In my area, it is played at pretty much any club, any Friday and Saturday, and has been since it came out.

No not me. I love it !

Never loved it but its got a nice crackle and engery to it.

I love the part where he goes "and my electric top went down, I said hey mutherfucker I know your reputation and I'm astounded that you're here...."

Otherwise the rap is hella wierd. Its like alternate universe rap, which I guess is better than trying to sound like you're from the dirty south.

i think I have a problem with the beat and rhythm of it, I think with different production, the same recording of vocals would sound cool.

But it's still a favorite at clubs and parties to this day when it comes on. People don't even know it's Prince.

No, I do not feel the same ... This is the first Prince song I heard that he me go out and buy all his albums from TGE back to the first. I even 'had' the 'Controversy/Dirty Mind' tape on one tape. Seeing Jam of The Year (Miami) that year helped too. The lyrics are great in that song ...

I love this song, and live it was great to sing a long to. (Gold Tour Den Bosch 1995).

i think this is his best attempt at rapping yet unlike all the "others" which i wont be naming names for lol

i do love this song, but not as much as the guy in this video!

It's tough to listen to in polite company, but I love the version he did for some fashion awards back in the day that includes a bit of Get Wild on the end. Nice.

Hmm, it had to grow on me. At first, I was like "weird song and perverted title." But then now I'm liking it more..."I'm kinda like cool song, very great to dance to, and a great song for the clubs." Not on my list of top 50 P songs tho.
