Overrated: Sign O The Times (Don't hate it, just don't adore it either, it's ok)
Underrated: The One (On repeat ALOT, but no else seems to love it that much) Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol | |

I don't think Prince has that many generally overrated songs. The classics are, well, classics, and rightfully so. Within the Prince community, I do tend to think that some of his earlier work is a bit overrated... People will call every single song of '1999' better than ANYTHING he's put out in the last 15 years, well, yeah-- THAT's overrating...

I immediately thought of Cream as overrated when I read the thread title, so that song for sure. I've always considered it the perfect example of a mediocre Prince single.
I don't remember anyone say they didn't like When You Were Mine, but it doesn't seem to garner much attention on "favorites" lists either. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

underrated: too many to name all. Just about every brilliant song that's not well-known outside his fan base. {Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother, Wife}, Joy In Repetition, Face Down, to name a few. | |
