1986 Detroit Birthday Show

Just wondering, does anyone know if the footage is circulating, of the songs that weren't shown in the broadcast?

"The Dance Electric" for example is not on the DVD that I have.

You know, I could swear the whole show is in circulation. I feel like I've seen the whole thing, but I cannot be sure. I can't imagine it wouldn't be since it was filmed in full anyway. Maybe I'm just thinking of the audio for the whole show.

The extra footage is not circulating. Soft and Wet appeared years later, but not the whole show.

Yeah, the full audio is out there.

I was on a kick of listening to all the different versions of "The Dance Electric" earlier. The one from this show is stellar.

This show has the best version of Pop Life. Eric is playing flute and they change a couple of chords in the chorus.

cool

It was pretty much the same version throughout the tour. The Funky Party 2 Nite has a great version as well. I agree about the fresher approach to the song. I really like it. I think some folks forget how much ATWIAD stuff he played on the Hit N Run Tour.

ATWIAD

Raspberry Beret

America (sometimes adding a chant from "Holly Rock")

Pop Life

Condition of the Heart*

Paisley Park*

The Ladder*

*usually played, when they were played, as part of the sit down piano segment

I have a copy of the audio of the whole show but it is not as good as the sndbrd release.

I had a chance to go to a party in 1991 and seen the entire show on video someone had and have never seen it again. Was pretty cool at the time since I never seen it before. It had Andre Cymone and Sheil E guesting on it. Have not been able to track it down since.

The current release japan versions have a 45min show and a 60min show ( with soft & wet) on it.
