Accoring to the article written in the Star Tribune, about Prince owing taxes, he owns a total of 12 properties in Chanhassen. I think it's common knowledge that he has leveled both houses. The purple and yellow house was originally all purple, then painted yellow, with purple trim. Around 1996 it was painted white with black trim. I've seen a picture of it in blue with red trim, but I'm not sure if the pic was manipulated or if it had changed once again. The last time I saw it, it was white with black trim.

I don't think that first picture is the front of the yellow house. The house is YELLOW, not really brick, but I could be wrong.

Eric Leeds mentioned this a while ago that Prince owned dozens of properties in the state.

Not sure how that is working for him now with the housing crash and all the taxes that have to be paid on properties that may have lost their value.

As much as I LOVE Prince, I do find this thread kind of creepy and too evasive. I mean, this stuff is really private and shouldn't be posted all over the net! Just my opinion...

Frankly, I don't see what the big deal is about knowing where Prince lives, or about the properties he owns. Heck, you have Hollywoods tours of stars homes, and thousands of people take these tours monthly... if not weekly!

I actually visited Prince's former house in Toronto on Bridal Path about 3 years ago, and took a picture. Big deal! It's not like I planned on breaking and entering. People take pictures of the homes of the rich and famous ALL THE TIME!

Now THAT would be creepy... and crazy... and an invasion.

Yes. He had the house on Kiowa Trail torn down after his father passed away. It was a purple house. John was living there in his latter years, once Prince bought and moved into the Galpin house (the yellow house). The Kiowa Trail house is the one w/ the gates that had a peace sign and a heart on them. The Galpin house was torn down in more recent years, after his divorce from Manuela. There was a rumor that he had put the debris from the house in a few flatbeds and had it delivered to her. A way of saying "You want that house, here it is!" Not sure if that's a true story, but if it is - boy was upset!

If you look at Google Earth, you can see the updated photo of just the land on Galpin. The windmill in the backyard (which was transplanted from the Kiowa Trail house, and was originally from overseas) is no longer there, but you can see a path to it. I think there used to be a gazebo out there too, but I could be wrong on that. The tennis court is still just north of where the house stood. You can also see the symbol in the middle of the circular driveway. Prince mentioned the Galpin house in "Zannalee" at the beginning.

Cut and paste this into Google Earth, or in Google Maps and look at the Hybrid view, and that's the Galpin property: 44°52'23.50"N 93°34'22.76"W

(I took that from what Google Earth gave me when I located the property, but it works if you enter it directly.)

If you head a bit south and east, you'll see how close Paisley Park is located to the old Galpin property.

People can't even stand outside Paisley Park and take a picture without being harassed by some big payrolled goon. Do you think anyone is going to get on the Galpin property without harsher interaction? There is still a guard house at the base of the property.

Besides, the houses don't exist. They're just pieces of land. A bunch of dirt and grass and trees. He doesn't live on them, so what's the harm in knowing where they are, anyway? Prince mentions that he lives on Galpin in "Zannalee", so really - it's his fault.

Knowing where Prince lives is nothing creepy. All information I posted here can be found on the internet for those in the dark ages. If Prince did not want us to know where he lives, then why use his real name on the parcel? I am not saying he does want people to know where he lived, but he must have known this information was public. And he made it known to everyone who lives around where he lives. Been caught speeding a few times on his way to Paisly Park to record a few songs. Everyone in MN knows where Prince lives.

Anyways, I lived in Minnesota. We all knew where Prince lived, we drove by it every now and then (even flew over it). It was never a big deal. No one tried to knock on his door (that I am aware of), or enter his property (Security!).

Prince does not have that problem in Minnesota. Now you go to LA, with all you crazy MF'ers out there and then, I see your point! Cause some of you HAVE actually tried to get in his house!

Midwest and Canda are a lot different in perspectives. We do respect his privacy. We just like to see where he lives every now and then and appreciate his sucess.

Prince could and has a walked around dressed in sweat clothes without any of these things and no ones recognized him.
