Prince Rap CD

What if P recorded a Hip Hop CD? Could he pull it off? I think Yes! What's your thoughts? I think it would be interesting seeing Prince take a serious stab it. I betcha he's already got stuff recorded.

wait i thought it was a classical music cd that he already had recorded.

this is getting confusing, and hard to keep track of.

seriously though, can prince fly?

Prince is a prolific musician, writer, arranger and producer. He could write either or both. I'd wager he has all kinds of stuff @ the Park.

Let's hope this never becomes a reality.

Are you kidding me? Threw up in your mouth? Prince has tried lots of different styles. He's even incorporated rap in his music. It would be interesting to see what he could do. Irresistible Bitch, Sexy MF, Superfunkycalifragisexy were all very good. I think he'd do well. Some people just dismiss Hip Hop. But like anything, there's good and bad. Free your mind.

Irresistible Bitch,

Sexy MF,

Superfunkycalifragisexy

Those are funk songs, not hip hop. wink

I hate the genre hip hop too, the attitude and the stealing/ sampling from old classics. Enough of this poison on MTV and VH1. Radio is poisened too by hip hop. Damn. sad

Yes, we have seen what he can do...and it was atrocious. Why anyone would want more boggles my mind.

Again...to each his own.

I'm not of the group who wants Prince to continually repeat himself. It seems like that's all many of hardcore fan what him to do. Actually, I'm suprised he hasn't released a Hip Hop trax or album. Back in the day, he released "Around The World In A Day." I say continue to experiment with music ie neo soul, jazz, hip hop etc. It's what he did a lot of earlier in his career.

His track record with rap and hip hop isn't very good. I don't think he could pull it off.

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Nah, wouldn't work, Prince is not a 'Emcee' or 'rapper'. His spoken word style is not Hip Hop per se but, it is cool sounding.

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

I actually don't mind PRINCE rapping. It's when he lets others (I don't think I need to name names) rap on his songs (aside from Cat) that I dislike.

I'm just saying...

HELL fucking naw!!!! I'd rather see him make a damn shit kicking country/western album before I'd want to see a damn shit hop album.

See, this is why I don't like to see Prince getting a huge variety of fans because they'll want him to make bullshit and apparently he listens to them because we end up seeing rediculous sellout bullshit tracks like "Laydown" on his albums. It's bad enough he sells out on particular tracks but if he were to make a full sellout album, he can keep it and shove it up his ass sideways before I'd buy it.

It's one thing to throw in a song here and there. Even today (Purple Yoda). It's actually kinda cute to see him try, and makes for interesting discussions noting which attempts are more successful than others.

A whole album would be just sad.
