If Small Club had been recorded now and not back in the day.... So I sent my ex a copy of Small Club thinking she'd be blown away. She isn't a big fan but was at one of the 21 nights and I sent her the eye records set that included the gig she was at. She prefers that much more than our beloved Small Club set! So if Small Club was recorded now would we say that there were too many covers and it leant far too heavily on Boni Boyer? Do we have our lovesexy era rose tinted glasses firmly strapped on or not?  if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

What if Controversy was released in 1997, Around the World in a Day was released in 1983 (and had parts of SOTT on it), and Prince became the host of the Today show? | |

She probably likes it better since she was at one of the gigs. People always seem to feel that the show they actually saw was the "best one he ever did", or the ones where people are within a foot of him were "the best". TRUE BLUE |

No offense to you or your friend, but someone who's not really a fan and who's been to one Prince concert is not gonna shake my absolute love for Small Club. I love the whole show.
I'll grant that there might have been other, better aftershows that weren't captured from the soundboard. But the show on Small Club is pretty great. | |
