Black Album... covered

Is that crazy cover of the entire Black Album? Almost like a MIDI version with vocals?

Not sure why is says "Produced by" someone else. But people love to put "Produced" on shit they put out like that. The time of the tracks indicate it's Prince's version of the album. It's probably just a bootleg pressing in general.

I have an Mp3 copy of an entire cover of the Black Album from back then, I thought maybe this was it, the original vinyl. I mean this cover had dissected every main layer and redone them in a cheap MIDI sounding way, it was really interesting, and whoever did it, really knew what they were doing as a producer to recreate the layers, even if they sounded funny for the most part.

I bought that "Impostor" CD way back when at a Minneapolis record store. It was sent to the shop for in-store play, but they quickly put it in the used bin and I snatched it. They're great songs to begin with, so it's not an awful CD - it's certainly good for shits-n-giggles.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

If my memory is correct, I remember there being a cover version of The Black Album back in the late 80s that caught one of my friends off guard. He got it home and it was all covers.

Just another example of finding a "legal" way of releasing the music as it wasn't strictly speaking a bootleg as the release didn't include the original Prince recording. Doubt if they paid any song writing royalties though!
