Prince playing Steve Vai's "For the love of God" could he do it? I'm listening to Steve Vai's "For the love of God" what a terrific song! I wonder could Prince nail a cover of this without choking? I put down $100 that not only would he nail it, but Mr. Vai would be begging Prince to collaborate with him in the studio, but that will probably never happen, What do you think?

Probably.
Steve's always seemed like his stage persona was Prince-lite. But his playing's killer.

I think he could do it if he really wanted.
I think Prince generally isn't interested in the "guitar instrumental" genre... he's done some things like Alexa De Paris and God instrumental... which feature the guitar as the lead melodic instrument...
His instrumental stuff is more rhythmic... [Edited 8/26/10 21:38pm]

It would never happen but I think it would be bad ass! I`d really like him to collaborate w/ Jack White but I don`t think that`ll ever happen either.

I hear you....Jack and Prince would be amazing. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I saw Vai a few years ago live in concert. His guitar technique is just crazy - beyond good and evil. I think this is even hard for Prince. How about a crossroads duel between Prince and Vai!
