NEW YORK – Kenny G isn't bowing down to Prince. The saxophonist candidly joked in response to a recent interview in which Prince said the Internet is completely over. Kenny G says if the Internet is dead "then I must be dead, too, 'cause I use it all the time." He adds with a laugh: "Maybe I've got a sixth sense, and I only see dead people. I don't know." The 54-year-old admits the majority of his audience may not be as "Internet and download savvy" like fans of singer Rihanna, but he knows he must use the outlet to promote his music. Prince refuses to use digital platforms to distribute his music. But Kenny G says he will do what it takes to stay connected, especially since he just released a new album, the R&B-flavored "Heart & Soul."

Kenny G is the Man!! I like all of his music. Why is everyone upset with what he said? Just because he said "the truth"? GHEEZ! People here fight over everything. I thought what he said was funny. Its not his fault that Prince is clueless and makes stupid comments that will get him torn apart.

For all those saying Kenny G sucks, fuck him, etc..., you sound exactly like those commenters (ooo, new word?) on Prince on the Huffington Post and other places that had the "Internet is dead!" article.

I like Kenny G and I think that he was just being funny with his comments.

It's all publicity...PERIOD. Kenny has a new album he's push. It's an independent project. His last independent album didn't sell well at all and now he's trying to build some type of momentum.

People really need to stop trying to get publicity for themselves by talking about Prince Prince is undoubtedly the greatest musician to ever do it and has Kenny G put out anything substantial since Songbird? Enough is enough I mean really.

I remember in 1994/95 Prince talked about Kenny G. for a quick second in an interview. He was talking about all the stuff that goes on back stage "and Kenny G. is walking around blowing that dang horn annoying everybody....".

It might have been the VIBE interview and they were talking about the World Music Awards.

Yet a few years later he had fucking Najee in his band, who was more than a little irritating.

This isn't the first time Prince has said something to annoy the status quo. How long did it take for people to follow him to the internet and repeat what he did? Prince is over it and on to the next thing. Folks need to relax and learn to not take everything he says as life and death. It's not that serious people.

What's funny about this is....last year (2009) Kenny G performed at the Playboy Jazz Festival; I'm thinking he was billed as one of the best acts....ha,ha. All due respect to Kenny....but when he took the stage there was a noticeable despair hohum in the crowd and people started leaving in droves. People were talking and carrying on with their business as if he wasn't even on stage...and generally by this time in the event folks are totally mellowed-out and looking to hear some great music. Not hating, just true.Kenny, you're dead.

And, the Internet HAS reached its glass ceiling....unless they can come up with some expansion...or add features that make it truly enhance, all it is is a reprint of everything we already have.
