I wasn't satisfied with my personal Ultimate Emancipation CD, so I decided to get rid of all the tracks that were on my Emancipation Disc IV collection and follow 's original sequencing more closely, particularly with the songs from disc II, and I think I ended up with a much improved result.
: Ultimate Emancipation 1. Right Back Here In My Arms (4:43) 2. New World (3:43) 3. Somebody's Somebody (4:43) 4. The Human Body (5:42) 5. White Mansion (4:47) 6. Can't Make U Love Me (6:37) 7. In This Bed Scream (5:40) 8. One Kiss At A Time (4:41) 9. Soul Sanctuary (4:41) 10. Emale (3:38) 11. Curious Child (2:57) 12. Dreamin' About U (3:52) 13. Joint 2 Joint (7:52) 14. The Holy River (6:55) 15. The Love We Make (4:39) 16. My Computer (4:37)
- ending with a "Goodbye".
And no, the title track still didn't make it.
With a 1:19:55 running time, it's a tight fit, like it was especially designed for these particular songs to fill a CD.
My first single choice would still be New World, but now backed with Let's Have A Baby. That track has B-side written all over it.

Early in 1997 I made a single disc Emancipation CD of my favorite tracks for a road trip. I literally burned it while I was getting ready to leave so I just left the songs in their regular sequence, but they flow great together without any shuffling.
01 - Jam of the Year 02 - Somebody's Somebody 03 - We Gets Up 04 - White Mansion 05 - Sex In the Summer 06 - Dreamin' About U 07 - Joint 2 Joint 08 - Slave 09 - New World 10 - Face Down 11 - Style 12 - Sleep Around 13 - My Computer 14 – Emancipation
And, yeah, I would also choose “New World” as a first single. It’s such a slammin’ track as well as short for those attention span challenged folks. I’d also probably push “Sex in the Summer” as it’s got a wonderful funky down tempo groove, modern sound production, a touch of that old-style Minneapolis sound with the keyboard notes in between each chorus vocal, and a melodic chorus vocal harmony that sticks in the brain long after the song has ended. Plus it's got a fantastic little jam for an ending which tops it off perfectly.

Zzzzzz. lol. Much respect, but that CD would keep me sleepin' for hours. It's almost as bad as the end of 20TEN with those 2 ballads back to back creating a sleepy atmosphere.

that's the intention, it makes a fantastic chillout cd, and is great for putting on if you are finding it hard to get to sleep

I guess I can respect that. I don't really dislike any of those songs, just all of them in succession would be pretty sleepy.
I actually used to love using "The One" to fall asleep to. It's his best slow, moody groove (in my opinion) and Rhonda's bass is just really soothing.

I whipped together a quick tracklist of basically the songs from Emancipation I love.
Jam of the Year Slave Joint 2 Joint Courtin' Time Damned If I Do Somebody's Somebody Face Down She Gave Her Angels Let's Have A Baby Saviour In This Bed I Scream The Holy River Style
Comes out to 1.1 hours and doesn't have the dreadful title track, so I just call it my "Style" tracklist on my iPhone.

To celebrate, I just corrected the P. Control remix cassette entry in Ultimate Gold Experience, mentioning the lip-synched performance of P. Control (House Mix) on VH-1. Thanks to Heidi for bringing that to my attention. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!
