The Crystal Ball album was recorded in 1986. Hot Thing was a track on the album.

"Crystal Ball", as stated, as an album that "Hot Thing" was due to be on, so it's no unusual that Prince mentions one thing in another on the same project.

The symbol dates back to 1982, not 1984.

Oh, lastly -

Actually, if you look closely at the bottom of the first "9", you'll see it on the "1999" album cover....

Andy is a four letter word.

At the end of the credits after Purple Rain, it says "May You Live To See The Dawn', which I always thought was pretty cool, and that can be tied to numerous future projects, Including the Gold disc, where the female voice says 'Welcome to the Dawn'; but during that time, 98-2000, when Prince was having almost weekly parties at Paisley and each week there'd be more and more 'casual' fans yelling for Purple Rain or Kiss, he started going onstage later and later. He'd wait till the 'riff raff' left and then play for the diehards that stuck it out. 3am became the norm and I even remember him going on at 4:15am one morning. It was great because often there wereless then 50 people left and he'd be real interactive with us, handing out instruments, showing you what to do and all of a sudden you'd realize, holy shit, I am jammin' with Prince on stage !!!. Anyways, often when it was finally done, the sun was rising and Princes' last words would be, 'Welcome to the Dawn Everyone' and that just blew me away, the first time he said that. It was like he was congratulating us for 'Living to see the dawn"

Rick James, Superfreak: "when I get there she's got incense, wine and candles".

Cut many years later to Prince's own "Incense and Candles".

Cool post.

I'm revisiting all Prince albums starting from the beginning. A line that stuck out in the song 'Baby' from the 'For You' album at 2.40 is "It's you, 'said it's you that I truly adore". Yes it's a widely used phrase in ballads but the way it's sung is very similar to the later recorded song 'Adore'.

I will be listening out for more!

You see, that's just the genius of Prince, thinking back to over 30 plus years and then we're talking about it. There are TONs of songs that were boots back in the early years that we hear now. I know we all recognize how LoTUSFLOW3R ties into 20Ten. The music, the vibe and a lot of the lyrics, same thing.
