New WHAT in winter?! In the recently posted German interview (great stuff, you must check it out), Prince stated that there'll be a new "system" come winter. I'm assuming he means a music distribution method without the internet. Any ideas? Plus the bit about possible new song titles are pretty interesting. A new (probably short-lived) service and an album to go with it? Color me intrigued. [Edited 8/20/10 23:17pm]

I was wondering about that part, too, when I translated the article. And I thought that maybe it has something to do with the translation ... I mean, the German article was translated from English, in which the interview was done. In German, the word "system" is the same as in English, though ... so maybe that's exactly what he said? Looks like we might get another surprise from Prince!! I'm definitely curious!

Maybe he meant nuclear winter, after Osama drops the bomb, and there's no economy. I bet he'd have to find new ways to distribute music then.

DING!DONG!
"Yes?"
"Hello. I’m making just a brief call to share an important message with you. Please note what it says here in the Bible. Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. What do you think about that? Does it sound good to you?"
"Sorry. I'm not interested"
"And a new Prince album?"

That is going to be the new way he will distribute his music; or there will be a concert at the local Kingdom Hall. I would buy an album if he rings my door bell. That would be even better than paying 77 bucks for a site that barely lasted one year:-D love the one who is Love!

Why would you assume that means distribution w/o the internet?

haha, Gigi, I would definitely also buy an album if he rings my door bell. He can come to Austria any time, I'll wait for him!

I think he will have a new web venture within the next year or so. The internet is dead my ass, he talks a lot of mince.

I think he's having a new plumbing system put in...Larry didn't like having to get out of bed and go downstairs for a pee in the night so he's dipped into the joint account and invested in an ensuite bathroom.

new system maybe = exclusive..
like a certain amount of people will be able to get the new cd(hardcopy)
maybe he might give them out at those future paisley parties

This is a riddle I refuse to figure out. Leave Prince up to what he means by that.

For real. That's lost in translation as far as I'm concerned. I'll just wait and see. Prince esta muerto...

He's going to sneak copies of his CD inside Michael Jackson's new album in November.

heres the quote
"He has long since made new music, „a new system, which will be ready for the public earliest in winter“. His notes that lay on the mixing pult in Studio B, full of unknown songtitles, give some indication: „Star (Sweet Dreams)“, „Back in the Day“, „Waiting“.

lol, Because Prince's songtitles have been indicative of its content for the last 15 years? Come on.
I'm still amazed 20TEN's titles are legit. They sound like they were lifted right out of a fake tracklist. "Walk In Sand", "Sea of Everything", and "Beginning Endlessly" are really stupid song titles.

I'm sorry, but when I read those songtitles and saw "Back in the Day" I just shook my head. Not another "No More Candy 4 U"/"Ol Skool Company"/"Family Name" song.

I suspect it means that -- outside of Prince.org -- the only thing people will be talking about will be how he put it out...
... yet again. | |
